For insurance and safeguarding reasons volunteers need to be aged 18+.  Information about our work experience placements for young people aged 15+ is available at https://www.novotheatre.org.uk/schools.

Walk in Your Shoes - Saturday 5 September 2026
Approx 1pm - 5pm

Our next walk will be around Druridge Bay. Our walks are led by members of staff, but we need additional help to keep the walkers safe e.g. keep an eye on them when they are crossing roads or helping them negotiate stiles.

You don't need to be a fitness fanatic, just fit and healthy enough to walk a maximum of 7 miles, although walks are usually much shorter than this. Full training will be provided. We reimburse your expenses.

Please note that this walk is not suitable for wheelchair or mobility scooter users.

Salt & Smoke: Stories of Blyth
Friday 18 - Sunday 20 and Friday 25 - Sunday 27 September 2026
Various times 

Novo Theatre will be bringing a theatrical adventure back to the streets of Blyth.   

Audience members will follow a map which will lead them to moments of theatre inspired by 500 years of Blyth’s history, at locations around the town centre. 

We are looking for volunteer stewards to join the Novo Theatre team and help us run the event. 

This will involve: 

• Greeting audience members when they arrive and checking tickets 
• Handing out leaflets and answering questions from members of the public 
• Signposting audience members to the next location, if they should need help 
• Encouraging audience members to complete our audience feedback form 
• Helping to keep the performance areas free of litter 

We will reimburse expenses.

If you would like to volunteer on Salt & Smoke please indicate your availability below. 

Rest/meal breaks will be scheduled, and we will reimburse travel and food expenses.
