ZONE LEAD(S)
The Zone Lead (arriving by noon on Thursday) works in conjunction with the Event Specialist. The Zone Lead is responsible for managing, assigning and overseeing all volunteer moderators.
Zone Lead(s) will take Unity scanner training to gain an understanding of the badge scanning system and assist BBW staff if needed.
They will also:
- Participate in set-up on Thursday afternoon / evening.
- Be present at the venue for both Friday and Saturday during all session times (approximately 7am to 5pm).
- Meet all Moderators for breakfast on Friday morning.
- Ensure volunteers sign the check-in and check-out board each day.
- Ensure all rooms have a “Rooms FULL” sign and "5 min/10 min" warning signs to alert speakers.
- Be present for all volunteer training sessions.
- Manage distribution and collection of session scanning devices.
- Other duties as required.
SESSION MODERATOR(S):
A moderator is someone who is comfortable:
- interacting with other RVTs
- speaking clearly in front of a full room
- introducing the speaker
- asking delegates to fill all the chairs
- asking delegates who remain in the room to have their badge scanned for the next session
- answering questions
- Moderators are expected to have general knowledge of the conference and must be familiar with the speakers bio.
AMBASSADOR(S):
Ambassadors are comfortable:
- greeting attendees
- providing directions
- answering questions
- possibly standing for long periods of time.
Ambassadors are expected to have general knowledge of the conference and the layout of the convention centre.
A minimum Volunteer committment of 3 hours is required to receive volunteer CE.
