    Support Crew Access Registration, Safety Briefing & Declaration to be completed by the driver of the vehicle.
  • Supporter vehicles wishing to travel through the Ohakune Mountain Road road closure to access the Massey University Alpine Club Aid Station (MUAC) must complete this form and safety declaration.

    This form must be completed by the driver of the vehicle entering the road closure.

    Please note:

    • There is no supporter vehicle access during the morning road closure, including access to Waitonga Falls.
    • Limited access will be available overnight from 7:00pm Saturday to 8:00am Sunday for registered supporter crews travelling to the MUAC Aid Station only.
    • Approved drivers will be added to the Support Crew Access List provided to traffic management staff.
    • Approved drivers must report to event registration on Friday 27th or Ohakune Event Hub on Saturday 28th to collect their vehicle pass before travelling to the road closure.
    • At registration, event staff will confirm identity, check registration details, and ensure the driver understands the access conditions and safety requirements.
    • Access is controlled under the event Traffic Management Plan and is at the discretion of the Traffic Management Team on the day.
    • Unregistered vehicles will not be permitted through the road closure.

  • Vehicle Pass Collection Process
    Before travelling to the road closure, approved drivers must attend event registration to collect their vehicle pass.

    At registration, event staff will:

    • Confirm the driver’s identity
    • Check submitted registration details
    • Confirm vehicle details
    • Ensure the driver understands access rules and safety requirements
    • Issue a vehicle pass for display in the windscreen

    Only drivers who have completed this form, been approved, and collected their vehicle pass from registration will be permitted through the road closure.

    This area is operating under an approved Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and is considered an active event and controlled road environment.

    Access Conditions
    • No access during morning road closure
    • Access only between 7:00pm Saturday and 8:00am Sunday
    • Only approved vehicles permitted
    • Must stop at road closure point

    Access is at the discretion of Traffic Management at all times

    Hazards

    • Fatigued runners

    Driver Responsibilities
    • Drive slowly and cautiously
    • Be prepared to stop
    • Follow all instructions
    • Use headlights
    • Do not overtake runners unless safe
    • Stay alert at all times

    Movement & Parking
    • Park in designated areas
    • Do not block emergency access
    • Follow event crew instructions

    Authority
    • Traffic Management has full authority
    • Marshals do not control traffic
    • Access may be delayed or refused
    • Emergency vehicles have priority

    Non-Compliance
    Failure to follow instructions will result in removal from the closure or refusal of access.
