Club Review Process
Upon receipt of a release request, the club is required to acknowledge receipt within 72 hours. Where applicable, the club is responsible for scheduling a release hearing within a reasonable timeframe. All parties, including the player and at least one parent or guardian, must be invited to attend the hearing. The fee to apply for a release hearing at the club level shall not exceed $100.00.
Appeals Process
If a release request is denied and the applicant is eligible to appeal, a written appeal must be submitted within five (5) business days of receipt of the club’s decision. Appeals must be emailed to the OLA Case Manager at casemanager@ontariolacrosse.com and must include all required documentation along with a $100 non-refundable appeal fee (Level 1 – Merit Review).
If the appeal is deemed to have merit, the matter will proceed to a hearing. If merit is not granted, the club’s decision is final. Where applicable, a final level appeal must be submitted within five (5) business days of receipt of the OLA hearing decision and must include a $300 non-refundable appeal fee.
