Facilitator Signup Form
The team of Organizing for Power: Workers Rising Everywhere is offering exclusive training, networking, and support to a limited number of organizational leaders as part of our Facilitators Program. Facilitators support the learning process in critical ways every step of the program. If you are interested in being a facilitator please read about the role and requirements and submit the form below as soon as possible.
The deadline to sign up is May 1, 2021.
FACILITATOR ROLE & REQUIREMENTS (estimated 1-2 hours of work per week outside of class):
- Serve as a Group Coordinator:
- Host interactive online sessions for members of your organization, maybe mixed with members of other groups, using your own Zoom Pro for breakout group sessions and discussions during portions of class.
- Guide members of your organization, maybe mixed with members of other groups, through the Workers Rising Everywhere training exercises.
- Remind members of your organization about class times and campaign practice assignments to ensure high participation.
- Set up WhatsApp/Telegram/Signal or other platforms to communicate with members of your organization about the curriculum and logistics, and to support them with questions or challenges they might have.
- Promptly engage with the O4P team and other facilitators to overcome challenges that you or your group members face.
- Sharpen your skills
- Participate in a 2-hour facilitation training either one or two weeks before the first session starts. (People who served as facilitators in prior O4P courses must attend the first part of the training but may leave early.)
- Support collective learning
- Join a WhatsApp group with other facilitators and members of the training team to receive updates, ask questions, and share input about how to enhance participants’ learning.
- Submit a short Facilitator Evaluation Form each week after your breakout groups to help the training team understand what’s working well and also where participants might be confused or need extra support.
- Join optional prep sessions before classes.
- Join optional debrief sessions after classes.
Space is limited for this program. Facilitator recruitment will be based on the following criteria:
- Group size - members of organizations that have registered the most O4P participants.
- Country - countries in the Global South.
- Demonstrated commitment to learning and teaching the O4P curriculum. Previous facilitators and returning participants will be considered heavily, as will new groups that make a persuasive case in the signup form.
