Also, new this year for the Orléans Craft Beer Festival's Homebrew Competition, after the initial round of judging is completed, the top 4 homebrews scores from all of the applicants will be featured at our Homebrew Competition tent at the festival on opening night (Thursday, June 8th). These beers will be part of flight available to attendees for their feedback as well. There will be certified beer ambassadors available to help attendee walk through how to judge your beers. Attendee votes will help to determine our Homebrew Champion!
Entries scoring less than 25 points (out of 50) may not be eligible for an award based on the discretion of the judges.
It is the entrant’s responsibility to enter their beer in the proper category, as specified in the BJCP Style Guidelines. Descriptions and sub-categories will be judged on an individual basis.
Please note, entries in some categories/sub-categories need to specify special ingredients and/or classic style information on the entry form and bottle labels. Once again, please see the BJCP guidelines for more information.
Excluded categories include:
- 27 – Historical Beer
- 30 – Spiced Beer
- 31 – Alternative Fermentables Beer
- 34 – Specialty Beer.
Feedback and score sheets will be sent to the competitors by July 1st, 2023.
This competition follows BJCP Style Guidelines and is open to any amateur home brewer age 19 or older.
