Creative Theatre Experience (CTE) recognizes that families are approaching the COVID-19 response with different levels of concern. We at CTE hope we can find the proper balance to give everyone a great experience while following the constantly evolving guidance from the Washington State Department of Health and the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department. Following is information detailing how we will provide a safe and healthy CTE experience for our students.
Group Sizes and Staff-to-Student Ratios
Arts Festival will be broken into smaller groups of no more than 20 students with 2 to 3 staff per group. The staff-to-student ratio for Arts Festival will be 1:10. Students will be grouped by age so that classes, materials and activities are age appropriate. All activities, including classes, cast/performance time, lunch and breaks will occur within the same groups and the groups will remain the same for the four weeks of CTE. Arts Festival groups will not crossover.
Similarly, early drop-off and after care will follow the above guidelines.
Students in the Spotlight, Showcase and Production Team Workshops will be placed in groups of no more than 20. The maximum staff-to-student ratio will be 1:20. There may be minimal crossover between these groups.
Lunch times will be conducted within designated small groups, either in classrooms or outdoors. Students should bring their own lunches and water bottles - sharing food or water will not be permitted.
Physical Distancing Provisions
CTE will adhere to the current distancing guidelines as prescribed for indoor educational settings. Each group will have its own room and will access other areas of the facility without contact with other groups. Outside spaces will be divided into designated areas for each group when multiple groups are outdoors at the same time.
Face Covering Requirements
Staff members and students will wear face coverings at all times, as recommended by the Washington State Department of Health and the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department. No exceptions can be made for this important requirement. Face coverings may be removed when eating and drinking and when they can be physically distanced outside.
Shared materials will be limited to those that are easily cleaned, sanitized and disinfected. Staff will clean and sanitize hands-on materials and equipment after each use. Each student will have a personal use place to store their belongings during the week. Sharing of equipment within established groups is permitted when current Phase requirements are followed.
