This forms helps us gather the information we need for your cover design and interior layout!. This form helps us understand your vision and guide design + production decisions. Nothing here is final—we’ll refine everything together. If you have any questions, contact your production manager or email us at team@otterpine.com. Which type of binding would you like for your book? Not sure? Many authors start with a paperback (no upfront cost) as hardcovers usually require a separate print run investment.

What kind of print budget are you considering (if any)? Standard paperbacks can be printed via print-on-demand which requires no upfront print costs. Hardcover print runs require a separate print run

If you're planning an offset print run, how many copies would you like to print? We typically recommend printing what you expect to sell in 6–18 months.

This can be specific (e.g. 6×9", 5.25×8", 8×10"), general (“standard hardcover” or “workbook size”), or based on another book you like.
What is the price you have in mind for your physical book? It's OK if you're not sure yet, a range will still help. We will develop a P&L for you in the future to help you validate your choices for retail costs.

While we love to include Otterpine's branding on the cover design, we don't require it. Let us know if you have a preference.
Would you like to include credits for the Otterpine team on your copyright page? This can include editors, designers, and others who contributed to your book.
Are there any additional credit lines that you'd like us to include on the copyright page? This might be editors and designers outside of Otterpine who you worked with. Here's an example: Editor: Jane Smith
Would you like to include a dedication page?
If you'd like to include a dedication page, what would you like it to say? You can add this to your manuscript at any point during the editorial process.
Would you like Otterpine to submit your manuscript for a US copyright?
If you'd like Otterpine to submit a copyright, please include the name or organization who will own the copyright. If the copyright is to an individual, we also need to know the citizenship of each copyright claimant. If the copyright is to an organization, we'll need to know the country in which the organization is based.
Copyright registration requires a contact address for permissions inquiries (requests from others seeking approval to use or reproduce part of your work in another project). Would you prefer those inquiries to be sent directly to you or handled through Otterpine? We will always consult you before responding.
