New cases of COVID-19 are being reported in a number of countries, including the United States.
Medical experts are still learning about COVID-19 and how it is transmitted. Not all patients become severely ill. With this in mind, the CDC and other health officials have begun taking proactive preparedness precautions, but the immediate health risk from COVID-19 to the American public is considered low at this time.
