Role Description
Help our medical team by assisting with our Spay and Neuter surgery check-ins! This role is vital to ensuring a smooth and organized start to the clinic day. Responsibilities include greeting clients, verifying paperwork, labeling carriers, confirming patient identification, and helping maintain a calm, safe environment for both animals and their guardians.
Resposibilities
- Greet clients and their animals upon arrival for surgery appointments in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist clients with completing or reviewing necessary intake forms and paperwork.
- Confirm patient information, including pet name, species, sex, and any special instructions.
- Label carriers and/or cages clearly with patient identification.
- Help maintain an orderly check-in flow to minimize stress for animals and clients.
- Communicate with the veterinary team regarding special cases, concerns, or behavioral observations.
- Provide general assistance to staff as needed during the check-in period.
Available Shifts
Both available shifts are at the Palo Alto location. You can take one or both shifts. Volunteers are expected to come weekly.
- Tuesdays, 7:30-9:00am
- Thursdays, 7:30-9:00am
Training Required
- 2 sessions

Qualifications
- At least 18 years old.
- Ability to volunteer weekly for at least 4 months
- Comfortable working with cats and dogs.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately follow procedures and record information.
- Interested in interacting with clients, staff, and other volunteers.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs for animals in carriers.
- Spanish Speaking is a plus!
