    The Alabama Coal Legacy Fund was established by Phantasa Rose and Penny Breeding of Pointer Home Team with one mission: to extend a helping hand to Alabama coal miners and their families during times of hardship, loss, and unexpected life challenges. Rooted in our family's coal mining heritage, we believe that the strength of the coal community has always been found in the people who stand beside one another when times get tough.

  • How is the Legacy Fund made possible?

    The Alabama Coal Legacy Fund is privately funded through a portion of the real estate commissions we earn when families choose Pointer Home Team to help them buy or sell a property. We do not accept public donations. You do not have to be a Pointer Home Team client to request assistance. If you or an Alabama coal mining family you know is experiencing hardship, we invite you to submit an application or nomination for consideration. Every request will be treated with compassion, respect, and confidentiality

All applications are subject to eligibility verification, committee review, approval, and available funding. Submission does not guarantee assistance, and not all requests can be fulfilled. Applicant information is kept confidential and used for administering the fund. General impact updates may be shared with Alabama Coal Legacy Members and on public social media. You are not required to have purchased or sold a property with Pointer Home Team to qualify for assistance.
