3) Why do we require insurance? If you cancel your expedition or training, regardless of reason, no refunds or credits are possible within 120 days of an expedition. If the expedition is cancelled for reasons beyond our control (including from acts of God, acts of war, political instability, weather, disruption of providers, pandemics or other public health crises, etc.) the only possibility for compensation will come from your travel insurance provider. Airlines, vessel operators, air charters, local outfitters, government agencies, rescue services, and other third-party providers are independent contractors, and their failure, delay, insolvency, cancellation, or nonperformance may affect the trip without creating a refund obligation from PolarExplorers. Participants should not expect reimbursement from PolarExplorers for losses caused by events outside PolarExplorers’ control and must look to their insurer for any available coverage.
