Unit 3.1 The assessment for this unit is to document the foundation training process. It doesn’t matter if the horse that is trained is not your own or if you do not complete all of the work yourself. However, you are expected to take photographs / videos of the foundation training and to put them into a document or presentation that also outlines the steps that were taken, and why. Make sure you read the definition of Foundation Training in this unit, and the accepted time frame you should cover. (5-10 weeks). At the end of the foundation training it is important that you assess the strengths and weaknesses of the training. What went well? What could have been done better?*

3.2 Submit a video showing yourself gearing up and long reining a horse or pony. The video should include an explanation of the gear required, handler position, and show you training Stop, Go and Turn responses at the walk.

Rein back can be included but is optional. Suggested length 5-10 minutes
