    The Artist in Residence (AiR) program supports emerging to mid-career New York City-based artists working in print, ceramics, public art, and textiles who have been historically underrepresented in traditional AiR programs, specifically Black, Indigenous, artists of color, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and low-income artists.

  • Please read the full scope of our fabrication services here and our community studios here before continuing to the following questions.

  • Artists will have access to Powerhouse Arts' state of the art fabrication facilities with support from fabricators and studio technicians during hours of operation. Select up to two fabrication shops you are interested in collaborating with during the residency.*
  • Have you collaborated with a fabricator before?*
  • Artists will receive a $5,000 material stipend for their projects and have the option to use part of this stipend to cover the cost of membership in our Community Ceramics Studio and/or MGC Community Print Studio. If you would like to purchase a membership with part of the stipend, please select the studio(s) you are interested in below.
  • Upload 5 past work samples and 5 relevant images, sketches, or mockups for the project you would like to work on during the residency. Please include a pdf or doc file with the corresponding list of works submitted, including title, date, medium, description, dimensions, or any additional information (up to 11 files).
