I self-identify as a Black, Indigenous, artist of color, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and/or low-income artist.I am a New York City-based artist.I am 18 years of age or older.I will not be enrolled in a degree seeking program (e.g. MFA, BFA), participating in an artist residency, nor represented by a gallery between October to December of 2025.I work in the area of print, digital print, ceramics, textiles, and/or public art.I agree to collaboratively modify the residency based on fabricator feedback and budget limitations.I am able to be onsite at Powerhouse Arts a minimum of 20 hours per week from October to December 2025.

The Powerhouse Arts' AiR program will take place over the course of three months, from October to December 2025. Artists will receive a $10,000 honorarium for their time. Please provide a brief statement of intent that addresses how a residency and access to fabrication shops at Powerhouse Arts will support support your creative practice and career goals. *

Artists will have access to Powerhouse Arts' state of the art fabrication facilities with support from fabricators and studio technicians during hours of operation. Select up to two fabrication shops you are interested in collaborating with during the residency.*

Artists will receive a $5,000 material stipend for their projects and have the option to use part of this stipend to cover the cost of membership in our Community Ceramics Studio and/or MGC Community Print Studio. If you would like to purchase a membership with part of the stipend, please select the studio(s) you are interested in below.

Optional: Tell us about your income status and/or financial barriers that limit your ability to realize your career goals. This will help us focus our support on those who would benefit most from this program.

We acknowledge that low income is not solely determined by earnings from labor but also by access to resources which can be influenced by factors such as family wealth, property ownership, debt, caregiving responsibilities, and other socioeconomic factors. The FFIEC defines low-income based on annual low-to-moderate income (LMI) individual earnings at or below $68,386, which represents 80% or less of the area median income for New York.
