Use this form to report an instance where you have seen or experienced harm or behavior that might transgress our community's principles or code of conduct.
Please complete this form with as much detail as you feel comfortable sharing.
ANONYMOUS REPORTS: You can submit an anonymous report if you’d prefer. The RAC’s process typically begins by communicating with the person who experienced or witnessed the incident. As such, anonymous reports normally won’t result in any further action by the RAC. However, anonymous reports can be useful to corroborate other reports or demonstrate patterns of behavior. To submit an anonymous report, complete as much of this form as you'd like, then check the very last box on the form under Anonymous Reporting. When you request anonymity, the RAC will respect that request by making no attempt to contact you.
WHO SEES THE REPORTS? Anything submitted by this form goes directly to a secure file accessible only to members of the RAC. The details of your report are confidential to the RAC and will not be disclosed to anyone without your express permission. That said, it is possible that this report or any other communication with the RAC could be subpoenaed under certain circumstances.
WHAT IF I'M UNCOMFORTABLE WITH SOMEONE ON THE RAC? The RAC acts collectively and no single member’s opinion is weighted more heavily than any other’s. Every member of the RAC has agreed to recuse themself from any process where their participation could undermine the outcome. If you don’t trust a member of the RAC to participate ethically in your process, please contact any other member of the RAC to let them know.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY REPORT IS SUBMITTED? An RAC member will contact you once your report is reviewed and assigned (unless you request no follow-up or anonymity).
Please be advised that the initial assignment process may take a little time as we work through establishing our internal processes and conducting other inquiries. If there is something about your report that warrants additional urgency, please be sure to include that information.
It may be helpful in expediting the process to include contact information for any other parties involved if available. It may also be helpful, if feasible, to have bystanders prepare a statement if we are likely to be contacting them as part of the inquiry.
Reports submitted during Critical or Burning Man may take longer to process. Two Inquiry Leads will be assigned to your report. Your Inquiry Leads are your point of contact to the RAC and can address any questions that come up for you.
A step-by-step overview of the process is posted here: www.principlezero.org/the-charter/
