  • Thank you for choosing to apply for a dog from Pupcakes Rescue.

It is to your benefit that you fill out this application as completely and honestly as possible. Before applying please do make sure that you have a specific dog in mind as we DO NOT have a waiting/registry list for dogs that may suit your criteria. Think carefully before applying and do make sure that you have read the dog's full write up and that you meet the the rehoming criteria fully otherwise your application will not be considered. Unfortunately many dogs under Pupcakes Rescue's care have behavioural issues and/or bite histories so please do not gloss over any of the information offered.

We can keep applications open for anywhere up to a 2 week period to allow everyone a fair opportunity to submit their interest- or until we find a suitable home offer past this deadline- this means that you may not get an answer straight away after submitting your application as we DO NOT run on a first-come-first-serve basis. When you have submitted your form and applications have been closed we will go through every application and assess the home that best suits the dog’s criteria. If your home offer and information matches the specific requirements of the dog in question then we may invite you to conduct a video homecheck that can be submitted through our Facebook page messenger or directly to our WhatsApp. We will require you to video the general living areas that the dog will have access to and your garden, including the perimeter to check for safety. If you are invited to submit a video homecheck we require this to be submitted within a 42h period if not a time discussed between the rescue and yourselves, otherwise the next suitable applicant will be contacted and your application bypassed should we not hear back. (PLEASE DO MAKE SURE TO CHECK SPAM/JUNK FOLDERS).

Regrettably not all applicants will be successful and if your application is not taken forward this is not necessarily a negative reflection on the home that you have to offer. Unfortunately with more popular breeds we can receive hundreds of applications -per dog- that we need to condense into one chosen applicant.  This is why we ask that you be as honest and detailed as possible in your application as the slightest piece of information may set your application apart from all of the others.

If you are not successful you will unfortunately not receive a reply as we simply do not have the woman power to reply to every application. When the dog is reserved we will put up a post on the page stating that applications are closed so that you are made aware of when a home for the dog has been found.

If you are chosen to move forward and your video homecheck is approved we will arrange for you to attend an appointment here at the Pupcakes Rescue shelter in Boston, Lincs.

If you are invited to an appointment we will require you to make a £70 non-refundable, non-transferable reservation payment by PayPal or bank transfer , this payment will reserve the dog for you and cover the resources required to have the dog groomed, prepared for adoption and the time required to conduct the appointment. Additionally, we will not progress with any further applications and will secure you an appointment slot. If you do not wish to pay the reservation cost then we are afraid we will terminate your application to undertake other applications. Unfortunately due to a considerable number of past applicants not fully considering the dedication required for taking on a rescue dog, not reading the Ads properly, not doing adequate independent research into the size and temperament of the breed they are applying for or considering the restriction necessary to keep all involved safe, we now have to implement that this non-refundable and non-transferable reservation is mandatory before being able to book an appointment into our schedule

Upon a successful adoption the deposit will be deducted from the minimum adoption donation of:

    🐾£480 (under 1 year old)

    🐾£390 (under 2 years old )

    🐾£350 (2-4 years old )

    🐾£270 (5-8 years old )

    🐾£150 (9+ years old )

    🐾£800 (Chinese dogs)

Please do be aware that our adoption fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to other dogs in rescue care.

We accept cash payments, PayPal transfer (Friends & Family/ Personal Payment ONLY) or bank transfer upon completion. Due to internet/signal connectivity issues on the property please do come prepared. We advise that all payment resources be brought along to the appointment (bank cards, mobile devices linked to accounts in case your provider requests account confirmation or two factor authentication to be able to log in) failure to pay the fee will result in the adoption not being able to be completed.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHEQUE, MONZO OR CARD PAYMENTS THROUGH A HANDSET.

If using PAYPAL please make sure that you have set up your account with an active bank card and can easily access your PAYPAL account through the new security measures before you attend the meeting. Please make sure that you can successfully make a payment to limit disappointment as we cannot allow a dog to leave the centre without completing payment.

When the reservation is paid this will hold the dog for you for 7 days to allow us to arrange a mutually convenient appointment for you to come meet and complete your adoption. In the event that you cancel before the meeting the dog will be placed back up for adoption and the deposit will not be refunded. This is to limit the amount of applicants that adopt a flippant attitude towards our process and ultimately misuse our support and limited resources when we could have offered another application the opportunity to adopt the dog. This approach means that dogs aren’t kept in boarding for unnecessary periods of time or continuously let down when they could be placed in their loving homes and means that we can support another dog coming into rescue and keeping families and owners safe.

Space is of vital importance to our mission, for every dog let down and remaining in kennels we have to turn away another dog that may be at risk of euthanasia or in an environment that may prove dangerous for their families so the sooner that we can help find dogs in our care their homes, the sooner we can save others and their families from stressful and dangerous situations.

If the adoption is successful your new family companion will leave with a harness, lead and collar to start off their initial journey. They will leave flea treated, wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (age depending).

If you are not capable of travelling to our centre in Boston at this time please do not submit an application.

To limit travel we ask that applicants be very sure of their commitment to the dog that you are applying for and capability to manage any behavioural issues that may need further attention. Please make sure to conduct further, individual research into the dog, the behaviour and breed you are applying for to limit disappointment should expectations not be met when finally meeting the dog. We cannot accommodate multiple appointments

If you are invited to an appointment please do be aware that due to the complex natures of the dogs that we take on, their appointments can take anywhere up to and often  over 3 hours for us to be able to fully cover all the information needed for you to make an informed decision about your capability to take on a rescue dog.

We DO NOT have a toilet facility available to the public so do make sure to visit a restroom before attending.

We respectfully ask that you do not apply for a dog or homecheck if you are not fully dedicated to the dog and the responsibilities that comes with bringing a complex, emotional individual into your home, especially a dog with behavioural issues or a bite history. Dogs can take months to feel fully settled and safe within a new environment so please do be considerate of your capability to support them and persevere long term to make an adoption work.

We hope that this helps to explain how to apply and what to expect when doing so.

If you have any further questions please do message us directly and we will endeavour to return your message as soon as we are capable.
