  • ADOPTION APPLICATION PROCESS

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue animal. Over 6 million unwanted animals are put to death each year in the US and Rescue Revolution is proud of our efforts in saving, healing, and finding homes for the ones that we are able to rescue.

Majority of our rescues come from high-kill shelters; they typically come to us with no history on health, temperament, or training. We attempt to identify breeds and potential sizes of animals, but it’s a guess that we can’t guarantee.

    Adoption Requirements

    · Must be 21 years of age or older to adopt.

    · If you do not own your home you must provide proof that the pet is allowed and any pet fees/deposits have been made.

    · Current pets, if any, must be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots, and must be on flea/heartworm preventatives.

    · All adults in the household must be present and co sign the Adoption Contract.

    Application Process

    · Once you have decided on an animal, you will an Adoption Application which asks questions about you, your household, and how you plan to care for the pet. The Adoption Application will be reviewed by an authorized volunteer. Our approval process is based on our knowledge, experience, lessons learned from past adoptions, and the pet.

    · If your application is approved we will schedule for you and your family to meet the pet; all members of the household, and any dogs in the home, must be present.

    · We adopt each pet to the first approved and available adopter. The pet of your choice cannot be held or reserved.

    Adoption Fees

    · Adoption Fees are set at our discretion and start at $300; some things considered in cost of adoption are age, size, and breed which affect cost of care.

    · We are a private rescue and are not affiliated with any government or national organization, and as such our adoption donations are set to cover as much of the cost for the spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and medical care.

    · Even at our highest prices, puppies and kittens are still half the price of pet store animals AND our animals are already altered and up to date on vaccinations at the time of adoption.

    · We are commonly asked what an adoption fee contributes to. Rescue Revolution vets every animal that enters or rescue. Here are common expenses for our rescue animals and their fosters:

    · All pets are spayed/neutered, are age appropriately vaccinated, and given monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

    · Food, medication, dental work, recommended bloodwork, heartworm treatment, crates, gates, you name it!

    · Fosters are provided with anything and everything they need.

    · Building, utilities, and transportation costs (including gas for transport).

  • Terms: ResQRev (Rescue Revolution); You (the Adopter).

    SPAY / NEUTER

    • Most of our rescue dogs are spay/neutered before being adopted; in the event they are not, arrangements will be made between you and ResQRev.  Puppies cannot be altered until they are 5 months old; all vetting must be completed after the pet reaches 5 months and before 8 months of age.
    • Vetting by Adopter:  You must provide proof of spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies, and microchip within the age or date range set.  If proof is not provided, you are required to reimburse ResQRev the expenses to complete vetting and, if applicable, half of the adoption discount.  If any of these conditions are not met, the pet can be reclaimed by Rescue Revolution.
    • Vetting by ResQRev:  You are responsible for being on time for appointments, such as shots and drop-off/pick-up to be spay/neutered.  A penalty fee will be billed for missed appointments without advance notice; fees based on the penalty fee charged to the rescue or no less than $10.00; 12-hours advance notice required for non-vet appointments and 24-hours for vet appointments.

    AGE / BREED / HEALTH

    • ResQRev cannot guarantee the age or breed of a pet.
    • All pets are treated for fleas, parasites, and other known medical conditions while they are in the care of ResQRev, however certain intestinal parasites may not present themselves while they are in our care.  Worms are a common problem for dogs, especially young ones, which often require multiple treatments to ensure they are worm free.  Therefore, we recommend your newly adopted pet see your vet within 2 weeks of adoption.
    • The animal is believed to be in normal health except where specific conditions have been made known in writing.  After adoption ResQRev is no longer liable or responsible for or the cost of future treatments for any condition whether specified or unknown.
    • At no time can the pet be euthanized unless a certified Veterinarian certifies it is essential due to any condition that negatively affects their quality of life.  In the event this circumstance occurs within one year of adoption, ResQRev must be notified.

    CARE / GENERAL TERMS

    • The pet will not be kept outside or made to live in an outside building.
    • Cats are to live in a private residence as companion animals and will not be declawed.
    • ResQRev reserves the right to reclaim both the possession and ownership of the pet if they have reason to believe it has been mistreated, neglected, or abused in any way by the adopter or any persons associated with the adopter.
    • Any information concerning the habits and history of the animal is passed to the Adopter in good faith. This information is based on statements made by the previous owner, foster, or rescue volunteer; however, there is no guarantee of accuracy.  Each individual animal may respond different in new environments. ResQRev is unable, therefore, to accept liability for any consequences resulting from inaccurate information.

    REHOMING / RETURNING

    • Adopting requires 100% commitment.
    • Adoption fees are non-refundable donations. Your Adoption Contract can be used as a receipt for tax purposes.
    • ResQRev must be informed at any time of a change in circumstances relating to the pet being rehomed, surrendered, or sudden death within (2) years of adoption.  If the pet is rehomed, you must provide the contact information of the new owner and update the microchip information.
    • At minimum, a 24-hour advance notice must be given when requesting to return the pet to ResQRev.  We are primarily a foster based rescue; we may not be able to take the pet back due to space and foster limitations.  If ResQRev can take the pet back, we ask that the pet be current on vaccinations, rabies, flea/HW preventative, and a current HW test or donate to cover the cost to have them vaccinated and tested.

If at any point you, the Adopter, fails to comply with any of the terms of this contract, Rescue Revolution has full right and authority to reclaim both the possession and ownership of the adopted pet immediately.

By submitting this application you acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.

  • APPLICATION SUBMISSION

  • When you are considering a rescue dog for your family, it is important to remember you will need to devote time and energy to your new pet. Children demand a lot of time and energy and if it’s all you can do to take care of your children, wait to add a pet to your family.

You must be willing to accept all the responsibilities if your children lose interest or refuse to care for the dog.

Adopting a pet can be a wonderful experience for children and adults alike. Just make sure that you put some thought and research into your selection so that you’ll end up with the perfect pet for your family. Learn as much as you can about the pet you are interested in before committing; researching their breed can tell you a lot about their natural temperament, energy level, health concerns, and so on.

  • By submitting this application, you are confirming that all information provided is correct. You acknowledge and understand that if any information is falsified your application will be denied immediately and you will not be considered for any future adoptions.

Additionally, you acknowledge and understand that majority of our rescues come from high-kill shelters; they typically come to us with no history on health, temperament, or training. We attempt to identify breeds and potential sizes of animals, but it’s a guess that we can’t guarantee.
