RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Eligibility
The event is open to all individuals aged seven years and above, who are physically fit and are of good health.
2. Distance
The JEWEL Butterfly Walk covers:
a. 3km for teens and adults ages 13 years and above;
b. 1km for children ages 7-12 years.
3. Registration
All participants must complete the online registration form, and register according to their appropriate age category:
· Children - ages 7 to 12 years
· Teens & Adults - ages 13 years and above
· Virtual - all ages (please refer to Clause 7)
Registration is complete upon submission of proof of payment and submission of the online form.
4. Participation Fee Schedule
· Teenagers & Adults – RM88
· Children – RM30
· Virtual – RM88 (Postage within Malaysia)
5. Butterfly Walk 2023 Kit
The Butterfly Walk 2023 Kit comprises of the following:
· Butterfly Walk T-shirt
· E-Bib
· Finisher Medal
· Printable E-Certificate
Participants are to collect their Butterfly Walk 2023 kit before the event. Participants will be updated on the collection time and venue.
6. Safety (Physical Walk)
6.1 Participants are expected to follow all rules, safety regulations, and instructions laid out by the organisers of the Butterfly Walk 2023. Participants must undertake all appropriate measures to ensure their personal safety, as well as that of other participants, for the duration of the event.
6.2 Be aware that the walkway could be uneven in places, and there are several water bodies throughout the path. Participants are to ensure their own, and their children’s safety, throughout the event.
6.3 While the organisers will make every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of participants, the organisers of the Butterfly Walk 2023 will NOT be held liable for any claims, damages, injuries, and loss of personal belongings that may arise from or during the Butterfly Walk 2023.

To highlight the theme, participants are encouraged to track their 3km walk on any Fitness App, take a screenshot and post the results on social media and tag the Jewel Malaysia Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/jewelmalaysia) with any of the following hashtags:

Participants are further encouraged to post messages on Child Safety and/or Anti Child Sexual Abuse. Eg: Keep our Children Safe; Tindak Demi Anak Kita; 0% tolerance for child abuse).
The Butterfly Walk Kit will be couriered to participants, upon confirmation of payment, and to the address given in the registration form. Please ensure the address as stated in the registration form is accurate.

8. Supervision
Children (7-12 years) and teenagers (13-17 years) must have appropriate adult supervision by either a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, during the event.
9. Event Cancellation
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as but not limited to - inclement weather, national emergency or terrain issues, the physical event may be postponed, or made fully virtual. In such an event, the organisers will make every effort to notify participants accordingly. However, there will be no refund or registration fee as all paid participants will receive their JEWEL Butterfly Walk 2023 kits.
10. Photography
By participating in the JEWEL Butterfly Walk 2023, you consent to the event organizers using photographs or videos taken during the event for legitimate promotional purposes.
11. Conduct
The Butterfly Walk is an AWARENESS walk, and not a competition. Please be patient and always ensure courteous conduct for the duration of the event, so that the focus may be on the event theme, which is to raise awareness about child sexual abuse.
