- The ERC is a tax credit created to reward business owners for keeping their staff employed during the pandemic.
- The credit was originially released as part of the CARES Act in March 2020, but has had several significant modifications over the past two years.
- The credit is based on wages paid in 2020 and 2021 and is paid to you be the Internal Revenue Service.
- How much of a credit will my business get?
- The size of your credit will depend on:
- What periods you qualify for the credit in 2020 and 2021 (not every business will qualify),
- How many employees your business had in 2020 and 2021, and
- How much you paid your employees.
- Our team has calculated over $100 million in Employee Retention Credits. Our average client qualifies for about $150,000 or $6,500 per employee.
- EXAMPLE: If you have 10 employees, the average credit is $65,000.
- How does my business qualify?
- There are three ways your business may qualify.
- 1. You experienced a significant decline in revenue in 2020 or 2021,
- 2. Your business was impacted by government mandates, or
- 3. You started (or acquired) a business after February 2020.
