Karate WA Referee Funding Form
Karate Western Australia (Karate WA) aims to support the development and experience of referees by providing funding for attendance at national and selected international events.

Please fill in this form if you are requesting funding for:
- Karate Australia National Championships
- Karate Australia Sanctioned Events
  - Australian Open, National Training Camps, Selection events.
- Asian Engagement Initiative
- International Events
Referees may apply for funding on a case-by-case basis, with the exception of the Australian Karate National Championships, which will have a set closing date for all funding applications.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome, both successful or unsuccessful within 28 days of submitting their application.

Funding Conditions

These funding conditions apply for the competitive season prior to the referee applying to funding.

● Referees must officiate at the WA State Championships and a minimum of three (3) sanctioned tournaments per competitive season.

● Referees must attend 80% of the Karate WA State Squad activities in a competitive season.

Future Contributions Requirements

Referees must contribute to the development of WA Karate officiating in at least one of the following categories in the following competitive season.

Category A – Officiating and Administration
● Officiating at a minimum of 4 WA Karate-sanctioned events in the following event season.

● Assisting with event setup related to officiating.

● State Referee Commission.

Category B – Education and Mentoring
● Presenting or assisting at a referee development workshop.

● Preparing and distributing referee training materials.

● Mentoring new referees through practical officiating sessions.

Mulitple Event Funding

Funding priority will be given to referees demonstrating significant contributions in both categories.
Category A - I will be contributing to:

Officiating at a minimum of 4 WA Karate-sanctioned events in the following event season.Assisting with event setup related to officiating.State Referee Commission.
Category B- I will be contributing to:

Presenting or assisting at a referee development workshop.Preparing and distributing referee trainingmaterials.Mentoring new referees through practical officiating sessions.
