2026 COMPETITION RESPONSIBILITY CHECKLIST

This is a summary of some of the requirements for Clubs to comply with this Season. It is the Club's responsibility to comply with all the requirements for participating in the South Australian Amateur Soccer League Competition.
CHECK LIST TO BE COMPLETED AND SIGNED OFF BY THE CLUBS EXECUTIVE BY 20th March 2026.
Registration of Participants
Players, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers, Physios, Volunteers, and Club Officials must register on Play Football, be verified by their Club, and approved by the League on Dribl before taking part in any match.
Players can only be selected for matches once all details are complete, payment is received, and the League has approved the Players' registration on PlayFootball and Dribl.

Code of Conduct
Clubs are responsible for providing all players with a copy of the Code of Conduct.Players are deemed to have agreed to abide by the Code of Conduct when they register with the SAASL and their Club.ALL Team Captains must wear an approved Captain’s Arm Band (includes Seniors, Reserves, C Teams, and Over 35’s teams). Clubs must provide the Captain’s Arm Band.Players (substitutes) must remain within the Technical Area and comply with the Referee's instructions at all times.
Registration: Coaches must have their registration verified on Play Football by their Club and also approved by the League in the Dribl system prior to Round 1 of the Season or the first Cup Round.Match Sheets: Coaches are to be named and selected on the Match Sheet at every fixture.Coaches involved in SAASL competitions are deemed to agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.Clubs will be held fully responsible for the conduct of their Coaches, and both the Club and Coach will be sanctioned for breaches.
A spectator’s line (3 metres from the pitch) must be provided by all Clubs as per the Competition Rules. Spectators must remain behind the spectator’s line or fence. If Spectators encroach beyond this line, they will be deemed to have entered the field of play, and the Club may be sanctioned by the League.

Club Marshall Requirements
Senior fixtures - a minimum of 3 persons, with one to be nominated as the Club Marshall, and the other two as Ground Stewards.Reserve fixtures, C Teams, Over 35’s and Single Teams – one (1) Club Marshall is required.
One Club Marshall must be present adjacent to the technical area (coaches area) at all times and at ALL fixtures within the SAASL – provided by both Home and Away Clubs – this includes Reserve Fixtures and must be named on the Team Sheet.
Escort the Referee to and from the field before the match, at halftime, and after the match is complete, or as instructed by the Referee.Control the Conduct of Club Officials, Coaches, Team Manager and/or Trainer, and Spectators, on and off the field at all times.Ensure Coaches, Substitutes, Team Manager, and/or Trainer remain within the Technical Area and comply with the Referee's instructions.Make themselves known to and visible to the Referee at all times during the match.
Club Marshalls must be registered on Play Football, verified by their Club, and approved on Dribl, and also added as Marshalls (including their Official SAASL ID number) on the Dribl Match Sheets (as per the Dribl guides provided to Clubs).
Wear the Yellow Club Marshall Vest and Club Officials ID pass provided by the League.

Club Officials/Ground Stewards
Senior Fixtures Only: Two Ground Stewards to be present adjacent to the pitch at all times and at ALL Senior fixtures within the SAASL – to be provided by both Home and Away Clubs.
Ground Stewards must be registered on Play Football, verified by their Club, and approved on Dribl, and also added as Ground Officials (including their Official SAASL ID number) on the Dribl Match Sheets (as per the Dribl guides provided to Clubs).
Assist the Club Marshall in their duties with the Match Officials.Be responsible for controlling the conduct of Club members and spectators off the pitch and ensuring unauthorized people are prevented from entering the field at any time.
Wear the Yellow Club Ground Steward Vest and the Club Officials ID pass provided bythe League.

Club Referee Policy & Club Referees
WWCC: Club Referees must obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to registering as a Club Referee for your Club.Nomination Form: Clubs must re-nominate their Club Referee every season using the prescribed nomination form available on the SAASL website.Exclusive Affiliation: Club Referees cannot register or officiate for more than one (1) Club or Team in 2026, unless approved by The League in accordance with Rule 14 in the Club Referee Policy.Mandatory Training: ALL Club Referees in 2026 must complete the SAASL Club Referee Training conducted by Football SA. Training dates to be advised – no exceptions.
Referees must register on Play Football, and their registration must be approvedby the League.Eligibility Confirmation: The Club Referee may not officiate any fixture until they, and the Club, have received a confirmation email from the League advising that they are eligible to referee.
New Appointed Club Referees will be provided an official SAASL Club Referee Shirt to be worn at all matches. Shirt, whistle, and card set will be supplied at the training course or can be collected from the League office.Returning Club Referees can order and pay for a new Club Referee kit through the League office.Club Referees are not permitted to wear an official Referee uniform, and any Club permitting such a breach will be sanctioned, and the Club Referee suspended/deregistered.

Match Sheets and Dribl System
Match Sheets are only to be generated on the Dribl System.The team selection needs to be completed on the Dribl App 15 minutes prior to the start of the match.
The Club Referee will advise the Home Club Team Manager and/or Coach, and they will enter cards, goal scorers, injuries, and the result onto the Dribl app. This needs to be completed prior to 7 PM on the day of the Match.The Away Team is able to view the results entered by the Home Club and may raise any disputes through the Dribl App.
Clubs that do not complete Match Sheets correctly and clearly may be fined accordingly. Failure to post the result appropriately will incur a fine per fixture as nominated.
Forms and Resources
Forms are available from the SAASL office during office hours. All forms will also be available for download in PDF format from the website.

Facility Safety
Clubs and their Lessors/Licensor’s have a duty of care to ensure their facilities are safe and regularly inspect their grounds, facilities, goals, corner flags, and equipment.
Any hazards must be assessed and removed, or adequate protection provided. Movable goals must be appropriately secured, and all wheels or protruding rods removed prior to the match commencing. Failure to comply could result in the fixture being canceled by the Referee and the Club being sanctioned under the Rules.
The home club shall by means of a marked spectator’s line, barriers, ropes or other device define an area which will keep all spectators and/or officials and/or players not directly involved in the game at least three metres from any sideline or goal line. Any barrier or ropes must be of a safe material and not pose any danger in any way to the safety of spectators, players or officials.The home club shall be responsible for ensuring that no unauthorised person intrudes closer to the sideline or goal line than the distance specified in this rule.The away team shall ensure that its spectators and/or officials and/or players not directly involved in the game remain within the area specified by the home club and shall be responsible for ensuring that none of those persons intrudes any closer to a sideline or goal line than is specified by this rule.

The Club agrees to comply with all the Rules of SAASL including the SAASL Code of Conduct.The Club will ensure that every Player participating in any Club fixture is properly registered and is eligible to play.The Club recognises that only Referees appointed by SAASL/Football SA and registered Club Referees are permitted to officiate any SAASL fixture.
The Club has been provided with and accepts to abide by the SAASL Competition Rules and acknowledges the consequences of breaching the Rules, Policies and Codes of Conduct.The Club will meet all its obligations to SAASL in a timely manner including payment of all accounts.
