Introduction
South Dublin County Public Participation Network (PPN) is delighted to invite members to register for our upcoming Linkage Group meetings in Sept 2026.
What are Linkage Groups?
Linkage Groups are specific-purpose sub-groups of the PPN that bring together members with a shared interest in a particular policy area.
They provide an opportunity for PPN members to collectively discuss issues, share experiences and expertise, and have a meaningful input into and influence on local policy.
They also provide a space for member organisations to connect with others, identify shared concerns and explore opportunities for collaboration and shared action.
What are the themes?
The SDC PPN Linkage Groups are organised around three key thematic areas:
- Social Inclusion, Housing and Equality
- Community, Enterprise, Tourism, Sports & Arts
- Climate Action, Environment, Transport and Planning
When will the Linkage Groups meet?
The Linkage Groups will hold meetings from 7.00pm to 8.30pm in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel on the following dates:
- Monday 16 November: Social Inclusion, Housing and Equality
- Tuesday 17 November: Community, Enterprise, Tourism, Sports & Arts
- Wednesday 18 November: Climate Action, Environment, Transport and Planning
Do I need to attend all of these meetings!?
No! We would suggest you or a representative of your organisation choose the meeting that most closely reflects the work and priorities of your organisation and come along.
What do we want to achieve at Round 4?
Round 4 is an important opportunity for members to come together, continue the work of the Linkage Groups and elect PPN Representatives to the relevant Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs).
During Round 4, members will:
- Vote to elect PPN Representatives to the relevant SPC seats for their Linkage Group
- Hear an update on the work of the Linkage Group and progress since our previous meetings
- Identify emerging issues or priorities that the Linkage Group should focus on
- Discuss how the Linkage Group can support newly elected PPN Representatives in bringing members’ views into the SPC process
- Agree priorities and next steps as we move into 2027
PPN Representatives play an important role in bringing the views and experiences of PPN members into South Dublin County Council’s Strategic Policy Committees.
Voting for the relevant SPC Representative positions will take place during each Linkage Group meeting, with eligible PPN member organisations having the opportunity to participate in the election process.
Whether you have been involved in the Linkage Groups throughout the year or are joining us for the first time, we encourage you to come along and get involved.
💬 Have your say, elect your PPN Representatives and help shape the priorities of your Linkage Group for 2027.
