Kinship Women Circle - SheRises: Everyday Women, Everyday Strength
A women’s support circle for those aged 30 and above. SheRises: Everyday Women, Everyday Strength exists to restore voice, dignity, and community - reminding women that they do not have to walk their journey alone.
Objectives:
- Increase self-worth and emotional resilience
- Learn healthier coping strategies for stress and overwhelm
- Improve ability to set safe boundaries
- Form stronger peer relationships and social support
- Gain better self-understanding and compassion
- Achieve greater sense of agency and hope for the future
The project will include:
- Monthly circle session (group-based): Sessions will be facilitated by registered counsellors/trained practitioners from The Mosaic Roots Project and LCCS. The duration of the session is 2 hours.
- Partnering with a community ally: Participants will have the option to partner with a community ally to continue with informal engagement.
Confidentiality
What you talk about in your sessions are both treated as confidential within LCCS and The Mosaic Roots Project and are not normally disclosed to anyone else. In accordance with professional requirements, practitioners discuss their work regularly with a clinical/practice supervisors. Practitioners do not provide information about clients unless:
- You ask practitioner to break confidentiality because you consider that to be in your best interest
- You are assessed to be a danger to self, others, or society
- You have revealed intention to commit a crime
- You are a minor, elderly, or disabled person, and you divulge information indicating that you are at risk of harm.
- The practitioner is legally compelled by a court of law, or a specific piece of legislation which makes disclosure mandatory. For instance, if The Mosaic Roots Project and/or LCCS practitioners are informed about a previously unreported matter of criminal nature, they may have an obligation to inform the relevant authorities.
The practitioners’ duty of care may require steps to be taken to minimise any danger. Where possible, a proposed course of action would usually be discussed with you first.

In Emergency Situation/Crisis
If there is emotional distress being experienced, of which you are thinking about suicide, or affected by suicide, you can call the Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) 24-hour hotline at 1800-221-4444. You can choose to be anonymous and all information shared with SOS remains confidential.
In the event of intense emotional distress and at high risk of self-harm and suicide, please walk into Accident and Emergency at Institute of Mental Health or hospitals or call IMH 24-hour Mental Health Helpline at 6389 2222.
LCCS practitioners will contact your emergency contact if anything should happen during the session and/or it has been assessed that you will need further support to keep you safe during the crisis period.
