The Mike ‘66 and Ann (Pfarr) ‘79 Wade Scholarship honors the legacy of excellence and the lasting impact of the Saint Joseph athletic program.
From the coaches who laid the foundation —Bob Carbone, Frank Matrise, Bob Carnes, and Jim François — to those who have carried that tradition forward, student- athletes have benefited from their experience and the values that the program instills.
Investing in the next generation of Lancers, the Wade Scholarship provides $80,000 annually to fund eight scholarships each year. A $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student in each grade, freshman through senior year, with scholarships renewable provided the criteria continue to be met.
The Wade Scholarship is designed to help SJCA attract and retain high-caliber student athletes who demonstrate strong scholastic achievement, athletic talent, character, and a genuine desire to be part of the Saint Joe’s community.
Recipients are expected to embrace the values of hard work, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and commitment and to contribute positively to the school, both in the classroom and through athletics.
For Mike and Ann, this scholarship is a meaningful way to create opportunities for future Lancers to learn, compete, lead, and make a difference.
Eligibility
- Open to one male and one female student athlete entering their freshman, sophomore, junior and senior year.
- Embrace hard work, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and commitment—and to contribute positively to the school both in the classroom and through athletics.
- Maintain good academic standing of a 3.0 GPA.
- Exhibit Financial Need
Scholarship Requirements
- Be registered at St. Joseph Catholic Academy for the upcoming school year.
- Complete a SJCA Financial Aid form in a timely manner, as required by the Admissions Office. (Financial need will be taken into account by the scholarship committee.)
- Provide a copy of your most recent report card.
- Provide TWO letters of recommendation from current/recent coaches.
Selection Process
The Scholarship Award Selection Committee will review applications. Scholarship money will be sent directly to St. Joseph Catholic Academy to be applied to the recipient’s tuition.
All relevant documents must be submitted together by March 15, 2027 with the scholarship application to be considered complete.
*Scholarships that are awarded may only be used towards billable tuition. Scholarships may not be used for fees or other charges which include but are not limited to hot lunch, athletics or clubs fees and books. Students who receive a scholarship and are later awarded a Wisconsin Parental Choice seat will forfeit their scholarship. Scholarships are prorated during the the duration of the school year.*
*All scholarship recipients are required to submit an impact statement that reflects on their experiences and the benefits of the scholarship. This statement must be submitted no later than May 1, 2027, as part of the scholarship agreement.*
