This year’s festival is being presented in loving memory of the Rev. Dr. Akilah Karima. Dr. Akilah, founder of SOF CORE’s Int’l & Culture Festival Expo, passed away on March 16, 2019 from secondary breast cancer (Stage 4 brain cancer). Since her transition, The World Alliance of Indigenous Peoples and beautiful souls from around the world have been working extremely hard to keep her legacy alive. This is why we are asking anyone wishing to assist us in our efforts, to volunteer and/or sponsor this year’s festivals for $20. Your donations will help to build the Rev. Dr. Akilah Karima Scholarship fund, support grass roots, international and cultural artists, promote the revitalization of indigenous languages, raise secondary breast cancer awareness, build community and bring this very dynamic festival and many of our other events to diverse and extremely deserving communities throughout the world.
