SSC Accreditation is for practice in Canada, by a Statistician who is a Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada or is an accredited member of an organization in their home country that is equivalent to the SSC and shares a reciprocal relationship with the SSC. You will receive an e-invoice for the CAD$65 application fee during the first week of the next month. This administrative fee is nonrefundable.

I understand that I need to arrange for official proof of degrees and transcripts obtained in Canada or USA to be sent directly (electronically, by mail or via MyCreds.ca) from the institution/university to the SSC within 3 months of the submission of my application. If the documents are not provided within 3 months, my application will be considered incomplete. The application fee is nonrefundable.I would like to use international degrees and transcripts in this application, and I understand that I need to arrange for official proof of Canadian equivalency of the international transcripts to be sent to SSC directly (electronically or by mail) from a recognized educational credential assessment organization such as WES, ICAS, or some Canadian universities, within 3 months of the submission of my application.I am not able to provide originals of the official proof of degree and transcripts due to reasons beyond my control. 6. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The basic level of educational achievement for an A.Stat. is a Bachelor's degree in Statistics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicants can fulfill the educational requirement using a combination of courses, accredited by the SSC or not, from one or more institutions.

In the Statistics and Probablity modules, the applicant should provide information about 5 courses past an introductory course in Statistics, one of which must be either Design of Experiments or Survey Sampling. Both are recommended.

Please append a copy of the course outline or final examination for any course not accredited by the SSC.

The course requirement for written communication skills can be met by formal courses in communications (e.g. writing intensive courses) or by other means such as a thesis, practicum report, co-op report, work report etc. Please attach a copy of these reports.

The substantive area should be a discipline in which Statistics is commonly used. For many degree programs, this would be a minor. Most minors are acceptable (e.g., minors in operations research, combinatorics, actuarial science, arts, life sciences, business, engineering, etc.). Other alternatives include a co-op work term or work experience in a job that has a substantial statistical component. Applicants who will use work experience in lieu of academic courses will need to provide reports.
