  • About the Submission

  • As deeply rooted as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra is in the classics, its musical aspirations are still intrinsically connected to Singapore’s multicultural society. Hence, the National Day Concert is one of the highlights of the SSO’s season, featuring a curation of pieces that are uniquely Singaporean.

This is an open call for compositions, and all interested Singaporeans are encouraged to apply.

Composers are invited to draw inspiration from iconic Singaporean landmarks and/or cuisine to present the story of us, in responding to the theme of SSO National Day Concert 2026: What Makes Us Singapore?

More than one composition may be selected, to be rehearsed and performed by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in August 2026.
