    Thank you for helping us make a meaningful impact in our community! You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team. Please be sure to mark your calendar, and we will follow up with specific details.
  • Volunteer opportunities will take place on Wednesday, May 13, from 1 - 4 PM. T-shirts are provided to volunteers. Register by April 17 to guarantee a shirt.

    Celebrate the day’s impact by joining us after the service projects at the Brownstown Events Center for our Wrap Party from 4–6 PM.

    Below is a list of volunteer opportunities available for you and/or your group. Please ensure that you register the correct number of volunteers based on your selection above.
    • Taylor Conservatory Foundation 
    • Location: Taylor, MI 

      The Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is funded by the Taylor Conservatory Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Founded in 2005, the Foundation’s mission is to maintain botanical gardens for the public to enjoy and learn from, promote culture, and preserve our natural environment.

       

      PLEASE NOTE: If volunteers are under the age of 14 for this nonprofit organization, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them.

    • Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry  
    • Location: Taylor, MI 

      Whether you are seeking food assistance or looking for ways in which you can help others, we invite you to learn more about Fish & Loaves in the following web pages. Your interest in Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry is appreciated as we all work together to provide food assistance to local individuals and families in need.

    • Sleep in Heavenly Peace  
    • Location: Brownstown, MI 

      Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit ensuring “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!” Volunteers build and deliver fully furnished beds to children ages 3–17 in need. By providing safe, comfortable places to sleep, SHP improves health and supports learning. Together, communities can help kids sleep better, grow stronger, and dream bigger.

    • Downriver Community Clinic 
    • Location: Wyandotte, MI 

      Downriver Community Clinic is a volunteer-run non-profit that provides free primary care to adults 18 years and older who are working, or in college, and uninsured or underinsured. No one should go without healthcare.

    • The Guidance Center 
    • Location: River Rouge, MI 

      Since 1958 The Guidance Center has been committed to its mission to strengthen families and change lives. Services spanning early childhood, children & youth services, and intellectual & developmental disabilities are delivered with excellence and professionalism in an atmosphere of caring, hope & respect.

    • Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency  
    • Location: Dearborn Heights, MI 

      Wayne Metro empowers individuals and communities to realize their own goals. Each year, Wayne Metro answers over 130,000 individual requests for assistance in southeastern Michigan. Wayne Metro provides over 70 programs to empower individuals become strong, healthy, and thriving.

       

      PLEASE NOTE: To volunteer for this nonprofit organization, participants must be 18+.

      Background checks are also required to volunteer for this organization. Background checks can be administered on site, or ahead of the event by Wayne Metro. 

    • Shelter to Home Animal Rescue 
    • Location: Wyandotte, MI 

      Shelter to Home’s Pet Adoption Center provides a home-like setting to showcase adoptable animals rescued from SE Michigan shelters.

    • Soroptimist International of Downriver 
    • Location: Taylor, MI 

      Soroptimist International of Downriver is dedicated to advancing the status of women and girls through education, empowerment, and advocacy. Our mission is to create opportunities that transform lives and communities.

    • Penrickton Center for Blind Children 
    • Location: Taylor, MI 

      Penrickton Center for Blind Children is a unique, private non-profit agency, providing five-day residential, day care, and consultation/evaluation services to blind, multi-disabled children ages one through twelve. Each program is individually designed to promote independence in all aspects of daily living. Penrickton Center utilizes its experience and expertise to teach and serve families, children and professionals through support services, education and advocacy.

    • Downriver Foster Closet 
    • Location: Wyandotte, MI 

      Downriver Foster Closet is a local 501c3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to help foster kids rebuild their self-esteem and adapt to their new home. We offer free items to kids, new or used, like clothing, socks, underwear, shoes, and suitcases. We started this non-profit to help relieve some pressure on the foster parents and have grown to help birth parents as well. It is our goal to come together as a community and help assist and support the foster care system and these kids in any way we can.

    • JOeY Foundation 
    • Location: Gibraltar, MI 

      Our mission is to ensure no one grieves alone. We provide free resources and programs to support individuals and families coping with the loss of a loved one. Services include virtual and in-person grief materials, peer support groups, and creative healing opportunities such as journaling, watercolor painting, mindfulness, and poetry.

    • Downriver Family YMCA 
    • Location: Southgate, MI 

      The Downriver Family YMCA offers group exercise classes, personal training, swim lessons and other great fitness and community building programs including:

      - Enrichment Activities
      - Recreation Programs

       

      PLEASE NOTE: Background checks are required for volunteer participation at the Downriver Family YMCA. Volunteers will receive an email directly from the YMCA that must be completed and approved before May 13th. 

    • Brownstown Parks and Recreation Department 
    • Location: Browstown, MI 

      Brownstown Park and recreation department support Borwnstown Township by providing essential health, social, and environmental programs. They maintain public spaces like parks and recreation centers, offering accessible fitness, sports, and educational programs for all ages. The parks & rec department fosters community connection, improves mental health, protects natural environments, and boosts the local economy

    • City of Romulus, DDA 
    • Location: Romulus, MI 

      The Romulus Downtown Development Authority (DDA) promotes economic growth and revitalization in the city's central business district through infrastructure improvements, property development, and business recruitment. It manages projects like streetscaping, historic preservation, and grants, alongside staging free community events.

    • Wyandotte Beautification Commission 
    • Location: Wyandotte, MI 

      The Wyandotte Beautification Commission enhances the city's aesthetic appeal by landscaping the downtown district, managing the "Adopt-A-Spot" volunteer program, and hosting seasonal clean-ups. They promote community pride by presenting awards to residents and businesses for exceptional, well-maintained, and creative landscaping.

    • Destination Downriver  
    • Location: Taylor, MI 

      Destination Downriver is the region’s travel and tourism campaign designed to showcase the stories, attractions, and experiences across its 18 unique communities. It brings together a coalition of organizations and community leaders working collaboratively to create opportunities and resources that promote and strengthen the Downriver region’s brand.
