  • Volunteer Roles

  • There are several roles in which you can support the festival. Below are descriptions of the key roles for our volunteers:

    • Set-up/Unloading - This is a fast-paced assignment where you will assist the vendors by unloading their vehicles and at times will assist in setting up their tents if time permits. It is imperative to assist them in unloading fast so that we can get their vehicles out of the event area.
    • Bell Tower Sponsor Set-up - This will be setting up tables and chairs for the patrons at the main stage and for the sponsors at the event. You need to be able to move 6-foot table and multiple chairs on the green space at the event.
    • Ice/Water Stations - The morning crew will make sure that the entertainment, volunteer, both stages and merchandise booths have water and ice for the start of the event. The afternoon volunteers will transport water and ice on carts to all water coolers throughout the event. You need to be able to pick up and put 25 lbs bags of ice onto a rolling cart and walk it around to each station.
    • Merchandise Booths - The early morning volunteers will set up the tent and put out the merchandise and the afternoon volunteers will resupply merchandise and will be a point of sell for all Pride merchandise. There will also be water at each merchandise booth that may be given out during the event.
    • Peace Keepers - Pride peace keepers will be responsible for maintaining peace and safety at the event and the primary duties will be to actively monitor the event, de-escalate potential conflicts, respond to incidents and ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees while upholding an inclusive and respectful environment for the pride community. There will be police officers present at the event and any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to law enforcement. We do not recommend first time volunteers signing up to be a peace keeper. Also no volunteer under the age of 18 is allowed to be a peace keeper.
    • Intersection assistance - We will ask that you work at an intersection where a barricade is located to ensure that nobody enters the event that is not a vendor or sponsor.
    • Bell Tower Clean up - You will need to break down the tables and chairs of the sponsors and the patron chairs in front of the stage area and stack them so that Venue Services can come and pick them up.
    • Festival Clean up - This will be a general clean up of the grounds. Picking up trash and putting it into receptacles.
