Pre - Charter Vessel Check
Test Saltwater washdown pump and make sure it is functioning properly
Test Livewell pumps and make sure they are functioning properly
Clean Life Vest, Test EPIRB, Life Ring, and Life Whistle. Stow in designated locations
Top off fresh water tanks and check pumps are working properly
Test navigation lights, red, green & rear light pole are functioning
Fill bilge with water and test bilge pumps.
Radar, Chartplotter, fishfinder are functioning properly
Verify physical maps and charts are stowed in case of chart plotter failure
Test stereo equipment and courtesy lights
Test the toilet, make sure it is functioning properly
Top off the boat with fuel
Charter Day Pre-Boarding
Load tackle, gear, nets, gaff, deck brushes, Rod & Reels
Preload your itinerary and fishing locations in the chart plotter
Test you radio on channel 16 Make sure its 5 by 5 while at the docks
Acquire Ice and place bags in fish boxes, coolers, and porta cool - Cuddy
Acquire bait from the marina store
Reset the trip odometer, fuel burn, hour meter
Charter Boarding - Customer Service - "Time to Shine"
Welcome Customers to the Vessel
Introduce yourself and explain to them how happy you are to be their guide
Show your customers where to stow their gear and belongings (No Glass Beverages)
Acquire their credentials and current fishing license numbers. Log in and complete the charter trip form
Be transparent about the expectations of the days events
Weather, expected sea level, ride quality, and fishing conditions
What type of fishing species they can expect to catch on the charter
Nautical Mile estimate for the day
Agenda for the day & when fishing will conclude
Inform them of the toilet location and how to use it
Show them the fishing positions on the boat forward and aft
Inform them of the locations of the Fish Boxes and live wells
Educate anglers about the Fishing Equipment, types of rods & tackle, and how to properly use them
Safety Briefing
Location of life preservers
Describe the Epirb, how it works, and how to use it in case of emergency
How to work the radio in event of Captain incapacitation

Post Charter Cleaning Checklist
Wash down all surfaces with fresh water
Scrub the deck with biodegradable soap and yellow bristle brush
Wash down all rods and reels with fresh water
Wash all rods and reels with biodegradable soap and sponge rags
Empty Fish boxes and wash with fresh water
Wash fish boxes with biodegradable soap and sponge rags
Remove transom plug and drain bilge
Flush each motor for 10 minutes with fresh water
Wash the exterior of the boat with biodegradable soap & blue soft scrub brush
Wash helm with fresh water and biodegradable soap & sponge rags
Turn off all perco switches
Plug in onboard battery charger, secure to the helm post so as not to get dislodged
