How it works?
The first set of trials take place around the Easter holidays. We are just waiting on confirmation on our London venue date, this will be confirmed by the end of next week.

At the first trial our UEFA A & B Licenced coaches will select the best players to go to the second round of trials that usually take place end of August / start of September.

Players selected from the 2nd trial day will be put into squads and the squads will be announced mid September.

Dates for 2027 team selection.

Trial 1 - Easter 2026 (see locally for dates)

Trial 2 - August 2026 (final round for selection)

September 2026 - Squads announced

November 2026 - Meet your teammates and coaches (online)

April 2027 - Training camp 1

May 2027 - Training camp 2

May - June 2027 - 2x warm up fixtures in the UK

July 2027 - Gothia Cup in Sweden

The surface is on grass so please ensure you bring the correct footwear. All players must wear shin pads.

The day will consist of technical, tactical, physical and game based practices to ensure we can assess players on all aspects of the game. All sessions are lead by UEFA B coaches and category 1 academy scouts.

What is the Gothia Cup & Northern / Southern / Midlands Select squad ?
Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth football tournament. Gothia cup runs in July each year, around 1800 teams from 88 nations take part with over 4500 games being played across 110 pitches. Ex professional players have participated in the past including; Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Xabi Alonso , Alan Shearer and Andrea Pirlo plus many more.

Northern / Southern / Midlands Select Squad's

Only the very best players are selected from the trial days by our squad selectors. If selected, players will have a 2 day training camp prior to heading to Sweden along with 2 warm up matches with 1 being against a pro academy team and then 1 against a grassroots side.

The tournament is held in Gothenburg, Sweden and the package is for a full 7 days.

The package includes;

- Return Flights

- Accommodation

- Transfers when in Sweden

- Breakfast & Evening Meals (Mon - Sat)

- Full Nike tracksuit , Training top and match kit with surname on the back

- 2 day training camp in the UK prior

- 2 warm up matches prior to the competition

- Opening ceromoney ticket (over 60,000 people for the opening ceromoney!)

- 4 week speed and stamina plan given prior to competition (PDF format)

Parents will be given a talk at the training day to explain in more detail and ask any questions they may have.

Only the strongest players will be selected for the sides as the standard is very high and we want to compete out in Sweden. Last year we managed to get to the semi-finals of the A Plate which was an incredible acheivement !

Signed academy players are allowed to play in the competition but it will be down to the individual clubs to give permission.
