Geography:
- Founder is based in the greater Teton region (defined as Teton County, Wyoming, Teton County, Idaho, Northern Lincoln County, Wyoming, and Pinedale, Wyoming).
- Preference given to potential for meaningful job creation in the Teton region.
- Willing to consider entrepreneurs from outside the Teton region, but preference given to entrepreneurs within the Teton region, and entrepeneurs who live outside the Teton region but exemplify community engagement within SC events and offerings.
Scalability:
- Entrepreneur has desire to make the venture a full-time business.
- Venture must have growth potential (potential future investability is a plus, but not required).
Industry:
- The TEAMS Program accepts many entrepreneurs across a wide breadth of industries.
- We do not accept tourism-related businesses that depend on local tourism, or real estate development-related businesses.
Stage & Structure:
- Ventures must plan on having an organizational/legal structure in place beyond single-person, sole proprietorship or single-person LLC.
- Ventures must have a for profit or B-Corp structure (unless applying to the non-profit pilot. See below for details.)
- Ventures must be in developmental, pre-revenue or post-revenue stage.
- We do NOT accept ventures at the idea stage and encourage those entrepreneurs to enroll in our Start-Up Success educational course.
Values:
- Silicon Couloir is a values-based, mission-driven organization, and applicants will be highly encouraged to incorporate Silicon Couloir’s guiding principle of “Profit. People. Planet.” in their venture.
- Preference given to entrepreneurs who are passionate about and engaged in Silicon Couloir’s Ecosystem (Monthly Chance Meetings, Pitch Day, Start-Up Success, Angel Group etc.)
Commitment:
- The TEAMS program requires commitment and willingness to adhere to specific rules and timeline requirements. Entrepreneurs are expected to meet in person monthly for the first three months and quarterly thereafter; to provide agendas one week in advance of meetings; to submit notes after each meeting; and to complete any agreed upon homework before the next meeting date.
- Entrepreneurs must be coachable, accountable, and must respond to mentors and Silicon Couloir staff in a timely manner.
Nonprofit Pilot:
Silicon Couloir recognizes that nonprofits are a significant part of the Teton regional economy, are values-based, and create and support meaningful jobs. Therefore, Silicon Couloir is engaging in a pilot program with select nonprofits with the potential for middle-class job creation in the Teton region as a part of the TEAMS program.
