Under the Renters’ Rights registration guidance, landlords are responsible for starting and completing registration for each property and renewing it annually. We have been advised that the fee is £65 per property per year, with fees pro-rated during the rollout. Your rental property falls within the East Midlands rollout, with registration required from 15 February 2027 and a submission deadline of 14 May 2027. You may register early from 15 December 2026. Initially, registration applies to occupied properties and those becoming let during the rollout. Requirements to register empty properties before marketing and include registration numbers in adverts will be introduced later.
