I hereby authorize Simply Skin Las Vegas, its employees/agents/clinicians to perform Microneedling treatments on me. Treatment Sites include: Face, Scalp, Stretch Marks & Scars
The purpose of this procedure is to use a Microneedling device that creates tiny, microscopic punctures in the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin using stainless-steel needles which then stimulates the making of new collagen - of which I hereby consent to being a patient receiving treatment.
Microneedling delivers persistent power and speed with needle penetrations, providing individualized solutions to repair and restore skin naturally. I understand this device will not prevent me from developing or re-developing facial wrinkles and acne scars.
Although this device is successful in most cases, no guarantees can be made, and that it may take multiple treatments. Some conditions may not respond at all, and in rare cases, may become worse. I understand that the treatment is purely elective. Alternative methods to Microneedling exist. I understand that certain complications are rare, but possible.
Side effects are rare but can include swelling, redness, scab formation, temporary bumps, minor burns and blisters on or around the treated area, temporary discoloration of the skin, pinpoint bleeding, skin sensitivity and irritation, infection, as well as the possibility of rare side effects such as, scarring and permanent discoloration.
The procedure may result in the following side effects or adverse experiences, and may carry some risks
- PAIN & DISCOMFORT – Some discomfort may be experienced during treatment. The level of pain and discomfort varies with a person’s tolerance, and both may be experienced during treatment with gradual pain after.
- Topical numbing is recommended and available for treatment
- REDNESS/SWELLING/BRUISING – Short-Term/temporary redness (erythema), swelling (edema), and/or mild sunburn-like effects of the treated area is common and may occur. There also may be slight bruising. A hive-like reaction may occur as well.
- SKIN COLOR CHANGES – There is a possibility that the treated area may become either darker (hyper-pigmentation) or lighter (hypo-pigmentation). These conditions usually resolve within 3-6 months, but permanent color change is a rare risk. Compliance with the aftercare guidelines and avoiding sun exposure before and after the treatment reduces the risk of color change.
- WOUNDS/Scratches– Treatment can result in scratches, petechiae, and in the rarest of occasions, broken skin, and pinpoint bleeding of the treated areas. If any of these occur, please contact our office immediately.
- INFECTION/BREAKOUTS – Infection is a possibility whenever the skin surface is disrupted, although proper wound care should prevent this. If signs of infection such as pain, heat, or surrounding redness develop, please call our office immediately. If you have had a history of perioral or genital herpes simplex virus, Prophylactic antiviral therapy is recommended in order to prevent a breakout. Follow the directions for your particular antiviral medication.
- SCARRING – Scarring is a rare occurrence, but it is a possibility if the skin surface is disrupted. To minimize the chances of scarring, it is IMPORTANT that you follow all post-treatment instructions provided by your healthcare staff. Compliance with the aftercare guidelines and avoiding sun exposure before and after the treatment reduces the risk of scarring.
- ALLERGIC REACTIONS – In rare cases, local allergies have been reported to products used during or after treatment such as adhesive, numbing agents, topical products and topical post-care have been reported. Systemic reactions which are more serious may occur to drugs used during the procedure.
- EPIDERMAL CRUSTING – During the healing phase, small pinpoint crusts, flaking or peeling may appear. It is important not to pick or disturb the crusts as they heal. Crusts may typically slough off in 1-3 weeks post treatment.
- PUSTULES/MILIA – Formation of small pustules and milia within the first days after treatment may occur.
- TEXTURAL CHANGES/INDENTATIONS – Textural and/or skin changes may occur because of treatment.
