To ensure the safety of our students and volunteers, Tri-City Youth Jazz Ensemble, Inc. (TCYJE) requires all volunteers to complete a background check before participating in any youth or public activities. This check verifies identity, criminal history, and sex offender status. Volunteers may be responsible for the background check fee (typically $20–$35) unless otherwise covered by TCYJE or a community sponsor. Background check fees are non-refundable once submitted to the screening provider. If you are approved as an active volunteer (3 events or 6 months), TCYJE may reimburse your fee or apply a credit toward a TCYJE shirt.

Refunds/waivers: If the background check fee is a hardship, select “Sponsorship/Waiver” and enter code SPONSORED. Limited funds available.

T-Shirt Fulfillment: Volunteer shirts are distributed at orientation or your first event. Exchanges depend on inventory; please choose your size carefully. You may also choose shipping to have your shirts mailed to you.
