Steps for becoming a Yoga Diver Distinctive Specialty Instructor:
1. Read the Yoga Diver Student Manual via Yoga Diver E-Learning to familiarize with the course content that you will be teaching ($34.95 U.S. as of January 2021).
2. Fill out this application
3. Pay a one-time licensing fee of $395 U.S. (via this application) which grants you the rights to use the instructor-authored Yoga Diver course outline and the Yoga Diver turtle logo.
4. Once your application and licensing fee is processed, you will receive the Instructor's Guide (course outline) and a permission letter from the course author. These are required in order to apply for the Instructor-Authored Specialty Course through PADI.
5. Fill out PADI Form 10180 - Specialty Course Instructor Application.
- In Section 3 - Method of Application, choose Method #3 - Instructor-Authored Specialty Course guide
- Section 4 - History of Experience - Question #1: As a Yoga Instructor, you have no doubt applied Yoga and Meditation techniques to your own Scuba Diving experience. You can use this to validate the dive experience you have in this specialty area. Question #2: Yoga Diver Student Manual and Yoga Diver Instructor Manual Question #3: List your training in Yoga/Meditation Question #6: Attach your Yoga Teacher Training Certificate
6. Submit PADI form 10180 along with the Course Outline, Letter of Permission, Yoga Teacher Training Certificate, and PADI Specialty Course Instructor application fee ($120 U.S. as of January 2021) to the PADI Training Department.
7. Once your application is processed by PADI, you will receive a PADI Distinctive Specialty Instructor card and will be able to process student certifications for this specialty.
