Student Government Association
The Student Government Association Senior Capstone Project Grant will provide any Southwestern College senior up to $1000 to improve College students’ educational experience. SGA will award the SC senior(s) who demonstrates a need for the money, whether it be for a new technology device or supplemental funds for a project, as decided by the SGA Senate. The goal of the grant is to help enrich the student body and to help meet one or more of Southwestern College’s Mission and Vision Statement.

Student representative(s) are required to present the grant to the senate for approval at the upcoming senate meeting. SGA will reach out with more information regarding date and time.

Grant Criteria:

1. Grant must enrich the educational experience

2. Grant money must be used within the Winfield community

3. A separate Approval Request must be signed and submitted by each of the following:
- Morea Simmons, Vice President for Finance
- Sarah Hallinan, Dean of Students
- Department Head or Supervisor of Intended Area
Grant money must be used by July 1 if senior applied for the grant in the Spring Semester and January 10 of the following year if senior applied for the grant in the Fall Semester.

Financial Information

If the grant is approved, a funding usage request will be required for the funds to be uploaded to the advisor(s) or staff/faculty representatives PCARD. Note: All Amazon, Staples, or Walmart.com purchases must be made through the Campus Life Office. All receipts must be submitted to the SGA VP of Finance via sga@sckans.edu 10 days after the event has concluded. Failure to submit all receipts may result in probation for future grants.
