Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Storehouse! We are excited to have you serve with us. All volunteers must be over age 16 and complete the Volunteer Intake Form as well as complete a background check. Once these items are completed and received by us, you will be contacted about volunteer opportunities at The Storehouse. This can take a few days to a couple of weeks. Thank you!

GROCERY STORE PICK-UP

*Picking up donations from local grocery stores in the Maple Valley & Covington area. This entails visiting the bakery, produce, deli, dairy and meat department of each store and picking up the items the store has set aside for donation. These items would be transported in your vehicle back to The Storehouse. Items are then unloaded and weighed at The Storehouse. Grocery pickup is done Thursday and Friday mornings. Training is provided. A personal vehicle is required for this volunteer opportunity. You must carry your own personal car insurance.

SORTING & GLEANING

*We receive donations from Costco and local grocery stores. These items need to be sorted and put away. Produce items need to be gleaned. Sorting and gleaning volunteers are needed Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday mornings.

GENERAL CLEANING

*Volunteers are needed to sweep the warehouse and wipe down food storage shelve and general cleaning within the warehouse. Monday and Thursday morning availability.

CLIENT DISTRIBUTION ASSISTANCE

*Volunteers are needed to assist with client distribution. This includes setting up before distribution begins, helping during distribution and cleaning up after distribution. Volunteers are needed to assist clients with check in, parking lot management, food box assemlby line and taking carts to client vehicles.

IN THE GARDEN!

*Volunteers are needed to assist with gleaning/harvesting the garden on the Real Life Church property so that our clients have fresh produce. This includes learning about and selecting produce that is ready to harvest under the direction of our Farmers. You would attend a Saturday orientation 8-10am with Farmer Chris or Farmer John then you are able to select various days/times that work best for you. If you are unable to participate in a Saturday orientation but want to volunteer a different day please mark this below. Thank you!

BACKGROUND CHECK: All volunteers age 18 and over must fill out a background check. If you are under 18 please do not fill one out - email us to let us know. Please select "Storehouse" not "Community Service" when prompted. Please only submit your background check one time. We will notify you when it has been completed and returned back through the process to us.

I am under age 18 and do not need to complete one.I have previously completed one through Real Life ChurchI am over age 18 and completing a background check with Real Life Church and understand I can't volunteer until it returns cleared through the church program.
