• MomoCon 2027: Rhythm Bash - Staff Application

    Storm x League returns to host our annual multi-rhythm game event in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia! This special event is in collaboration with our convention host, MomoCon, and the arcade vendors providing the machines (TBA). We are currently accepting applications from those who wish to offer their assistance with the 2027 event.

  • ABOUT MOMOCON

    MomoCon brings together fans of Japanese anime, American animation, comics, video games, and tabletop games to celebrate their passion by costuming and cosplay, browing the huge exhibitors hall, meeting celebrity voice talent, designers, and writers behind their favorite shows, games, comics, and much more over this 4-day event.

    MomoCon 2027 will take place from Thursday, May 27, 2027 through Sunday, May 30, 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

    An official MomoCon 2027 badge will be required to access the event (including the arcade).

    All staff and volunteers are expected to be on their best behavior at all times, including at hotel spaces or outside of the venue. As a representative of Storm x League, you are also a contractor of the larger event (MomoCon) by extension.

    Any violation of policies will result in a warning, reassignment, or expulsion from the event. The severity of the offense will dictate the severity of the discipline.   • AVAILABLE ROLES

    EVENT ORGANIZER (TRADITIONAL)

    • This role organizes and runs a "traditional" (head-to-head style) tournament for a rhythm game of choice.
    • Traditional event organizers have full creative control of their respective format designs.
    • They may also request and collaborate with others to design rulesets if necessary.
    • Traditional events are granted medals for Top 3/4, courtesy of MomoCon.
    • This role must fully commit to running their respective tournaments on the day of for its entire duration. In the event that a tournament ultimately cannot be run for any reason, please consider the alternative below as a backup (leaderboard).

    EVENT ORGANIZER (LEADERBOARD)

    • This role manages an alternative tournament for a rhythm game of choice where participants can play a set of songs within a duration of time.
    • Alternative prizing may be provided separately.

    EVENT SUPPORT (ASSISTANT)

    • This role assists lead organizers with designin and running their tournaments.
    • Event Supporters may be asked to provide temporary relief such as stepping into bracket running, scorekeeping, helping manage leaderboard events, etc.
    • Recommended for those interested in running their own tournaments in the future!

    STREAM MANAGEMENT [NEW!]

    • This role is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of a live broadcast of a traditional rhythm game tournament of choice.
    • Stream managers may be asked to provide their own equipment.
    • Stream managers may recruit assistants to help with any and all aspects of the stream such as but not limited to: design/layout, equipment, production, technical monitoring, etc.
    • Depending on various logistical aspects, streams may only be approved for very few games in our event lineup.

    ARCADE SUPPORT (OVERNIGHT)

    • This role is primarily responsible for watching over the arcade overnight while all other staff are resting up for the night.
    • Arcade Supporters may work with our arcade vendors and their staffing and volunteering teams to help oversee the arcade and report any issues.
    • Overnight Arcade Supports will be asked to cover at least one (1) overnight shift. Multiple four-hour shifts from 12AM-8AM will be available.

    There will be a very limited amount of spots available for the Overnight Arcade Supporter roles. If you have previously staffed for an arcade vendor at the event and are primarily interested in providing general help with the arcade, we strongly recommend reaching out to them instead.

    MomoCon will be providing a select amount of rooms for any and all Storm x League to stay at for free throughout the entire duration of the event.

    • Each room will include two full beds (each bed can fit 2 people, max 4 people per room).
    • All rooms will be available from the day before the convention starts (Wednesday) until the day after the convention ends (Monday).
    • Parking is NOT included.
