Who We Are:
At the heart of Rainbow for Girls, we value confidence, empowerment, sisterhood, and service. Our mission is to inspire girls to reach their full potential as leaders, boost their self-confidence, and create a supportive network of friends, all while building lasting relationships.
Our Goal:
We aim to support girls, ages 11-20, as they navigate the challenges of adolescence by providing a safe, nurturing space where they can openly express themselves, make meaningful friendships, and grow into the confident, empowered individuals they are destined to be.
What is Rainbow?
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (Rainbow) is an inclusive organization dedicated to empowering young women. Our international motto, “Rainbow Gets Girls Ready for Life!” captures our core belief that girls deserve the chance to develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills that will set them up for success in all areas of life.
Rainbow is unique in how it combines philanthropy, leadership, and community service. Members engage in hands-on service projects, raise funds for charitable causes, and take charge of organizing events that benefit their local communities. Over the last five years, Assemblies in Washington and Idaho have collectively raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for causes close to their hearts.
What We Offer:
Through Rainbow, girls gain real-world experience in leadership. Each local Assembly is run by the girls themselves, with opportunities to take on key roles such as planning events, managing budgets, and running meetings. Elected by their peers, girls lead at both the local and state level, giving them hands-on experience in running a nonprofit organization.
Rainbow also focuses on building communication skills. Whether through writing, public speaking, or conflict resolution, our members learn how to effectively present their ideas, deliver speeches, and confidently speak in public—valuable skills that serve them well in their future careers and personal lives.
