  • Ontario Open Water Championships will be a fun filled 2- day long outdoor event at Gull Lake in Gravenhurst on July 25-26, 2026.

    In order to make this event happen we need volunteers and officials.

    Volunteer positions do not require experience, although attending the Level 1 Open Water Officials Clinics does touch on some of the volunteer position required.

    We need the following volunteers

    • Lifeguards
    • Boats and boat operators with boating license
    • Volunteers to operate kayak/canoe for Officials
    • Check-in volunteers
    • Security
    • Setup on July 24 & 25
    • Takedown on July 26
    • Officials for both days

  • What is your level of Certification for Open Water*
  • Do you have experience with Open Water events?*
  • Do you have experience with operating a boat, kayak or canoe?*
  • Unisex T-Shirt Size*

  • Open Water events generally is an all day event with setup the day before to prepare the courses for racing.  Tents and tables need to be arranged for check-in and areas designated with signage and tape marked off.

    Below the availability is broken down into different sections.  Times are estimates

    • Friday - Late Afternoon - Time TBD - course preparation / tents / tables / area designation
    • Saturday - 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
    • Sunday - 7:00 AM 2:00 PM
    • Sunday - Late Afternoon Volunteer - Time TBD (Approx. 2:30 PM) - takedown

    Breakfast & Lunch will be provided on the Saturday & Sunday
