Competitor & Team of the Year
Scope of Award:

Recognises competitors and teams who have achieved sporting excellence in competition as well as contributed to the area of surf sports within surf lifesaving during the season.

Areas taken into account may include performance in major competitions or competition series, participation in representative teams, and any other areas where the nominee has made an important contribution to Surf Life Saving.

Criteria:
- Competition results.
- Demonstrated a positive image to other members and teams within the Club and at competitions.
- Contribution and commitment made to competitions within surf sports.
- Attended training and development sessions relating to competitions.
Definitions:

Competitor of the Year
- A competitor who has competed in a minimum of two (2) competitions during the course of the season as an individual.
Team of the Year
- Composition - two (2) or more
- Competitors must have competed together as team in a minimum of two (2) competitions during the course of the season in the same discipline event.

John Bate Junior Lifesaver of the Year
Scope of Award:

Recognises and rewards individual’ members who have made an outstanding contribution to the delivery and development of surf lifesaving frontline services, aimed at active surf lifesavers undertaking lifesaving duties and who can be presented as an identifiable “Ambassador or Ambassadors” for surf lifesaving within the Club and Community.

Criteria:
- Individual contribution and commitment made to surf lifesaving patrol duties.
- Demonstrated commitment to public and community safety.
- Positions held relevant to lifesaving, held at Club, State and National levels.
  Awards achieved relevant to surf lifesaving duties.
- Attended conferences and participated in professional development relating to education.

Nipper of the Year
Scope of Award:

Recognises an individual Nipper (U10 to U13) who has contributed and demonstrated outstanding achievements in the areas of individual safety, surf awareness, lifesaving, and surf sports within the Club and the Surf Lifesaving Community.

The Nipper’s contribution to the Club demonstrably enhances the development of the Club’s Nipper Program.

Criteria:
- Achievement of individual safety outcomes as prescribed in the Woodside Nipper Program
- Achievement of surf awareness outcomes as prescribed in the Woodside Nipper Program
- Achievement of the lifesaving outcomes as prescribed in the Woodside Nipper Program
- Achievement of the surf sports skills outcomes as prescribed in the Woodside Nipper Program
- Attitude displayed by member e.g., positive, tries their best, team orientated, respectful, role model.
- Level of participation of member – attendance on Sundays, at training, at carnivals
- Contribution to club.
