  • Competitor & Team of the Year

  • Scope of Award:

    Recognises competitors and teams who have achieved sporting excellence in competition as well as contributed to the area of surf sports within surf lifesaving during the season.

    Areas taken into account may include performance in major competitions or competition series, participation in representative teams, and any other areas where the nominee has made an important contribution to Surf Life Saving. 

    Criteria: 

    • Competition results. 
    • Demonstrated a positive image to other members and teams within the Club and at competitions. 
    • Contribution and commitment made to competitions within surf sports. 
    • Attended training and development sessions relating to competitions.

    Definitions:

    Competitor of the Year

    • A competitor who has competed in a minimum of two (2) competitions during the course of the season as an individual.

    Team of the Year

    • Composition - two (2) or more
    • Competitors must have competed together as team in a minimum of two (2) competitions during the course of the season in the same discipline event.

  • Scott & Michelle McKee Surf Sports Person of the Year

  • Scope of Award:

    Recognises and rewards member/s who have made a significant contribution towards the area of Surf Sports within the Club and the Surf Lifesaving Community in a range or a number of different Surf Sports disciplines throughout the season, or who has shown significant and outstanding achievements in one particular discipline for an extended duration. The individual’s contribution demonstrably enhances the development of Surf Sports within the Club and the Surf Lifesaving Community.

    Criteria: 

    • Contribution and commitment made in development of the Surf Sports culture within the Club and the Surf Lifesaving Community.

    • Demonstrates a positive image with sound coaching and planning principles and has made a significant contribution towards the improvement of a Surf Sport discipline/s performance either at an individual or team level.

    • Positions held relevant to Surf Sports, held at Club, State and National levels.

    • Awards achieved relevant to Surf Sports activities.

    • Attended conferences and participated in professional development relating to Surf Sports.

  • Summary of Exceptional Service:

  • City of Cockburn Lifesaver of the Year

  • Scope of Award:

    Recognises and rewards individual’ members who have made an outstanding contribution to the delivery and development of surf lifesaving frontline services, aimed at active surf lifesavers undertaking lifesaving duties and who can be presented as an identifiable “Ambassador or Ambassadors” for surf lifesaving within the Club and Community.

    Criteria: 

    • Individual contribution and commitment made to surf lifesaving patrol duties. 
    • Demonstrated commitment to public and community safety. 
    • Positions held relevant to lifesaving, held at Club, State and National levels. 
      Awards achieved relevant to surf lifesaving duties. 
    • Attended conferences and participated in professional development relating to education.
  • Summary of Exceptional Service:

  • Murray Family of the Year

  • Scope of Award:

    Recognises a family group (of two (2) or more family members) who have demonstrated achievements in a range of different areas of the club throughout the season, or who have shown significant and outstanding achievements in one particular area for an extended duration. The family’s contribution demonstrably enhances the development of the Club.

    A family’s nominees may be members in any area of the Club including but not limited to Governance, Lifesaving & Training, Member Development (Nippers & Youth) and Surf Sports.  

    Criteria: 

    • It recognises the exceptional service of a Family to the Club. 
    • Services rendered and the achievements during the season must be considered as distinguished. 
    • Consistent, sustained, and dedicated service or achievement and exemplary contribution that is beyond what is expected of Club Family Members. 
    • Service and achievement must primarily be for the benefit and advancement of the Club. Service and achievements within SLSWA or SLSA may also be considered as a contribution to the family’s nominations. 
    • Contributions made by the family to the Club can be wide and varied and these must be considered. The number, types of positions, demands of each position and the period for which they were held should all be considered.  
    • The family shall have shown to have abided by the Code of Conduct of SLSA, SLSWA and the Coogee Beach SLSC. The family members must have exhibited professional, ethical, and positive conduct during their Membership of the Club. 
  • Summary of Exceptional Service:

  • Dave Knowles Excellence in Member Development

  • Scope of Award:

    Recognises and rewards Member/s who have made a significant contribution towards the areas of Education, Nippers and Youth within Surf Lifesaving and the Community.

    Criteria: 

    • Contribution and commitment made to the delivery of Surf Lifesaving Training, Assessments, Nippers and Youth Programs within the Club and Community. 
    • Contributed to the continuous improvement of new Education Resources, Nippers, and Youth Programs.  
    • Positions held relevant to Education, Nippers, and Youth, held within the Club, State and National levels. 
    • Awards achieved relevant to Education, Nippers, and Youth Programs. 
    • Attended conferences and participated in professional development relating to Education, Nippers, and Youth.
  • Summary of Exceptional Service:

  • Geoff Newman Club Person of the Year

  • Scope of Award:

    This the highest award available to be bestowed upon an individual of the Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club in a season.

    It recognises an individual member/s who has demonstrated achievements in a range of different areas of the club throughout the season, or who has shown significant and outstanding achievements in one particular area for an extended duration.

    The individual’s contribution demonstrably enhances the development of the Club.  A nominee may be a member in any area of the Club including but not limited to Governance, Lifesaving & Training, Member Development (Nippers & Youth) and Surf Sports. 

    Criteria:
