INTRODUCTION
Mrs. Betty Brown was a beloved teacher and school administrator for 35 years. She spent 30 of those years working in the Tucson Unified School District in Tucson, Arizona. Upon her death in September 2000, her sorority renamed its scholarship fund in her honor. Scholarship recipients are females of Black or African American heritage. Mrs. Brown left a legacy of high academic standards, commitment to community service, and a love of humanity.
To honor her legacy, the Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors and community college students who have a passion to learn, a determination to succeed, and an eagerness to earn a 4-year college degree.
Our scholarship awards will vary up to $2,500. If interested in applying for this scholarship, please read the entire application, review the criteria below and submit the completed application and supported documentation to the Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
