Please read all of the information in the application carefully before completing. Applicants are not guaranteed volunteer work. WOMAD NZ will select people suitable to the available positions. We place trust in our volunteers to assist us in presenting a quality experience to our audience. To ensure all areas of the festival run smoothly and efficiently we rely on our volunteers to turn up and work their rostered shifts. In return you will be given a 3 day pass that will allow you to enjoy the festival before or after your rostered shifts.

Application period from 18 September 2023 - 23 February 2024. Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis. Application close date may change based on numbers of applications.

Volunteers who are volunteering at WOMAD NZ for the first time are required to purchase a refundable volunteer ticket. Please do not purchase a ticket for WOMAD NZ until you have been accepted as a volunteer as you require a specific volunteer link and code to enable your ticket to be refunded after the festival. If you purchase a general WOMAD NZ ticket you will not be refunded. You MUST provide your Team Leader a copy of your volunteer ticket no later than 18 Feb 2024 to confirm your role. DO NOT SCAN YOUR TICKET AT PRE-WRISTBANDING OR ON ENTRY TO THE FESTIVAL. If you do not complete your allocated shifts at WOMAD NZ you will not receive a refund. Refunds will be processed AFTER WOMAD NZ - please allow up to 3 weeks.

Volunteers are able to camp in a tent (bring your own) in the WOMAD NZ General camping area for free - please select this on the form below. Motorhome camping is available to volunteers at a cost of $100 for 3 nights. This option needs to be selected via the volunteer ticket link - please note the motorhome fee will NOT be refunded and availability is very limited. All volunteers requiring motorhome camping needs to purchase this ticket. Spaces are limited.

All applicant's suitability will be assessed for the role(s) that they have applied for. Applicants will be advised by email of the outcome of their application. Approved volunteers will receive an agreement outlining their obligations, the area or role they are assigned to and their team leader. Please remember you may not receive your preferred role. Compulsory volunteer briefings will be held in advance of the festival. Your team leader will advised the date and location.
