The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
It is our pleasure to assist the most vulnerable in our communities.
Currently we are accepting applications for Back to School supplies for children in Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12). Each child will receive a kit with basic supplies for their grade level. Any extra school supplies that your child(ren) requires is up to the parent/guardian to provide.
While The Salvation Army endeavours to meet the needs of everyone coming to us for assistance, the size of the demand has exceeded our capacity. For this reason, we are introducing new eligibility criteria.
Who is Eligible?
The Salvation Army exists in three communities across the Capital Regional District. The Salvation Army location closest to your living address will be The Salvation Army to serve you. Applying to a unit outside of your area, may result in your being redirected to a more appropriate location. Proof of address will be required at the time of pickup.
You are eligible for assistance if your combined annual gross family income is at or below the following income levels (line 150 of most recent tax assessment of all family members).

Households with an income level higher than that outlined may be considered for assistance, on a case-by-case basis. Please be prepared to share why you are applying for assistance if your income is above the low-income threshold.
The purpose of this assistance is to ensure families have the means to provide basic school supplies for their children. The Salvation Army acknowledges the significant expenses families juggle, and it is our hope to alleviate some of that pressure for those most at risk.
