Eligibility
Scholarship applicants must have been accepted to an institution of higher learning, must not have previously attended college on a full-time basis, and live with parents or legal guardians who are members and receiving electric service from TVEC at their primary residence. The application deadline for this scholarship is April 15 of each year.
Award
Cumulative scholarship amounts will be determined by the TVEC Board of Directors on an annual basis. Minimum and maximum individual scholarship amounts will be determined by the TVEC Board of Directors on an annual basis.
Payment of Scholarship
Payment for the scholarship will be made by TVEC directly to the institution in which the recipient is enrolled. The recipient is responsible for providing TVEC with proof of registration at the institution before payment will be released.
Recipients must be enrolled full-time in an accredited institution of higher learning full-time enrollment is defined as 12 semester hours or as otherwise defined by the registrar of the institution.
Selection Process
Students will be required to submit an essay on a topic assigned by TVEC. The essays will be judged by an independent panel. Scholarships will be awarded to the top scoring essays. Applications are available online beginning in January of each year. TVEC must verify all applicants meet the eligibility requirements.
