  • Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., is a non-profit organization that has its roots in community service and education. The aim of the Zeta Phi Sigma Tacoma Alumnae Chapter is to promote educational awareness, serve as advocates for social issues facing Tacoma, and provide opportunities for continuous personal and professional growth for its members and other women of color with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. 

    Application Opens: TBD (Usually opens in January each year.)

    This SGRho Tacoma Young Achiever's Scholarship Fund will be used to award one of the non-renewable scholarships below. If selected, the applicant will receive only one scholarship.

    1. Up to $1,500.00 Scholarship: Awarded to a BIPOC female high school senior who has been admitted to an accredited college or university.
    2. Up to $1,000.00 Scholarship: Financial Rhoer of Zeta Phi Sigma Tacoma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. seeking an undergraduate   degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
    3. $500.00 Scholarship: Financial Soror/Philo members of Zeta Phi Sigma Tacoma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. seeking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
    4. $500.00 Undergraduate Golden 22 Foundation Book Scholarship: Awarded to an undergraduate BIPOC female student enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning. 
    5. $500.00 Philo "Golden" Scholarship: Awarded to a BIPOC female pursuing an associate's degree or trade school education.

    Awardees will be notified on or around mid-April.

  • If selected, I understand that I will be asked for documentation to support the data I provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information submitted below. Please use proper spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. I understand the members of the Zeta Phi Sigma Tacoma Alumnae chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. determine the winner of the SGRho Tacoma Young Achiever's Scholarship (TYAS).

    In addition, I understand that any misrepresentation or false information on this application will disqualify me from this scholarship. I authorize the Zeta Phi Sigma Tacoma Alumnae Chapter to contact my high school to verify submitted documents provided on this application. I give permission to have my photo published for the annual scholarship banquet, social media, and future marketing materials.
