TTFF Micro Grant Application for Visual Artists Queens, 11385

Hello Everyone!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read this before you begin. Jotform is a little tricky and we have some very important advice that will help make filling out this application a friction free experience.

DO NOT use Safari to fill out this application. We strongly recommend using Chrome or Firefox. Make sure your browser software is up to date. For example, in Chrome you will see a button on the upper right side of your screen that says "update chrome".

Before starting this application, please refresh this webpage and make sure to SAVE each page as you go along. You must register your email and set up a password with Jotform in order to save your form.

If you applied in the past and have already registered with Jotform - you can use that login info to save this application. If you forgot your password you must RESET it since your email is already registered. 

There is no time limit to complete the application, but if you leave the form sitting on your browser for a day or more, it may create an error and not submit. Please save your work and click out of the browser. You can access your partially completed form from the link jotform sent to your email.

We recommend that you save your submission content (text, titles etc.) in a separate document and copy/paste to the application so you have a backup in case an error occurs.

Application Open: Monday, November 3, 2025 10:00AM

REQUIRED MATERIALS

• Artwork Sample Images: You can submit up to 10 image files of your artwork. You are free to show works form any time period you choose, however we recommend including at least one example of work produced in the last 2 years.

FYI: If you are taking high definition photos using an iphone, those photos are either .heic or .heif files. You must export those images as a jpg or png file.

• Video Links: You have the option of adding up to 3 video links. Vimeo or YouTube are the only platforms we will use to view the videos. Please include specific time signatures for the panel to view - there is a 2 min viewing limit per video link. Please include a still image from each video in one of the 10 images you are submitting.

  We do not accept links to Tiktok videos or IG reels. Please upload that content to either Vimeo or Youtube if you want us to veiw it. 

• Artist Statement: describe what your work is about and give some insight into why and/or how you make your work. (300 words max)

• Narrative Bio: a brief description about you and your art making career to date. Please don't stress about this part! Simply tell us a little about yourself and your art making journey. This could include art exhibitions, art events and/or what you hope to achieve in the future. (300 words max)

• Proof of Eligibility: You must either live and/or work within the zip code 11385 in Queens, NY to be eligible for our Spring 2025 micro grant cycle. Please see our MAP to confirm the boundaries.

  Acceptable documents showing your Queens, 11385 address includes: paper mail addressed to you such as a utility bill, bank or credit card statement, lease agreement, other business mailings addressed to you, *signed affidavit.

  *If you share a space and do not have mail addressed to your name you can submit documentation addressed to your studio/roommate along with a signed affidavit statement from the person whose name appears on the submitted document confirming you are living and/or working there - see example affidavit.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be individual artists who live or work within the neighborhoods in the 11385 zip code of Queens, NY. Please check this detailed neighborhood boundary map to see if you are eligible. If you are not within this boundary you are not eligible for a grant. 

Applicants must be visual artists. We recognize that defining a visual artist is tricky as many artists work within more than one discipline. The main focus of your work must be visual. Example mediums: painting, drawing, sculpture, craft, collage, printmaking, photography, mural arts, installation and multimedia disciplines. You DO NOT need to be a "professional" to apply, if you make art you are eligiable for our grants! For more information about eligibility please see our FAQ page.

Who is ineligible?

• Artists who do not live or work in the 11385 zip code.
• Artists who have been awarded a TTFF micro grant.
• Artists who are applying as a group or collective.
• Artists who are currently enrolled in a visual arts degree program.
• Employees, board members, or immediate family members of the foundation.

Grant recipients will be asked to fill out a W-9 form in order to release the funds. TTFF will issue a form 1099-NEC at the end of the tax year. The form will be issued under the receipients name or business listed on their W9.

We recommend submitting at least 5 samples. You may include a detail of a work as a separate file. Please do not include multiple views of a single artwork in a file.

Each file name must start with a number, followed by your last name or artist name, title and date of the artwork.

Your work samples will be viewed in the sequential order that you number them, 01 being first and 10 being last.

Examples: 

• 01_your last name_title of artwork_year
• 02_your last name_title of artwork_year
• 03_your last name_title of artwork_year

Video Documentation

We invite you to include a vimeo or youtube link for an artwork you submit. You can include up to 3 separate video links.

Please include specific time signatures for the panel to view - there is a 2 min viewing limit per video link.

Acceptable documents showing your Queens, 11385 address includes: an NYS I.D Card or License that has your 11385 address on it, image of paper or digital mail addressed to you such as a utility bill, bank or credit card statement, lease agreement, other business mailings addressed to you, *signed affidavit.

*If you share a space and do not have mail addressed to your name you can submit documentation addressed to your studio/roommate along with a signed affidavit statement from the person whose name appears on the submitted document confirming you are living and/or working there - see example affidavit.
