About the YPS Executive Council
The Executive Council of the YPS shall direct the section activities.
The term for these positions begin at the conclusion of TMA's Annual Conference, TexMed. All are one year except for TMA Delegates and TMA Alternate Delegates.
Responsibilities of YPS Executive Council Positions
CHAIR - Chair-Elect Elevates to Chair
The chair shall preside over all YPS section and executive council meetings, subject to the YPS operating procedures and TMA bylaws. The chair shall have the authority to call section meetings, designate ad hoc section committees, and appoint committee members.
CHAIR-ELECT
The chair-elect shall assist the chair and preside at meetings in the absence of the chair or at the chair’s request.
SECRETARY
The secretary shall record proceedings of the meetings of the RFS and Executive Council. The secretary will lead section meetings when the chair and chair elect are unavailable. The secretary will also serve as the RFS representative for the Texas Medicine Editorial Board.
DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE DELEGATE TO TMA HOUSE OF DELEGATES
The delegate and alternate delegate shall represent the section in the TMA House of Delegates. Any member of the YPS in good standing may be elected as delegate or alternate delegate. Upon conclusion of the TMA delegate's term of the office, the TMA alternate shall be elevated to the office of the TMA delegate. The term of office shall be two years.
AMA DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE DELEGATE
The AMA-YPS delegate and alternate delegate shall represent the TMA-YPS at the AMA-YPS section meetings during the AMA Annual and Interim Meetings. Candidates for AMA-YPS delegate and alternate delegate must be active AMA members.
